I think there is an Australian music thread round here somewhere but methinks it's time for a rejuvenation!

In my biased opinion, Australia has some of the best music out there, the sad thing is the commercial stations here just don't support it, unless it's canned pop rubbish, Kylie is excluded from that btw, coz she's a spunky little thing with a great [slash[arse[/slash] voice!

Anyway, onto the music, that is why the one or two of you that are here clicked, right?

First up is a little bit of Washington

They're a new band with a HUGE future ahead of them.

Another new band, The Jezabels

And finally for this post, Birds of Tokyo

Please share your favourite Aussie bads!

Chadwickus,
I liked Washington and particularly the Jezabels but was unable to play The Birds of Tokyo due to copyright issues

I will look out for a Jezabels CD as I thought they were the best but I will also check out Birds of Tokyo on the net to see if I can listen elsewhere. There is a lot of musical talent in Aus but it sometimes does not get the recognition that it deserves. Thanks for bringing these bands to our attention.

PEACE,
RK

How Many Miles - The Waifs

Verse 1
(Ab) it was way after mid (Db) night, before you (Ab) crossed my mind
But I thought of you til the sun broke (Db) through and I watched that road (Eb) unwind
(Ab) Funny how that road, was just (Db) like the (Ab) trail we made
Every little twist (Db) and turn and bump (Eb) left me feel (Ab) ing worn and frayed

Chorus
(Db) How many miles (Ab) did we wander
(Db) How many nights did we (Ab) drive on through
(Db) Travelled the road like roll (Ab) ing thunder
(Db) And none of them lead (Eb) to anywhere that (Ab) we wanted them to

Verse 2
But it wasn't always rough - there was some smooth travelling too
And when the sun came up I was high on a mountain in the morning new
You always told me if I opened my eyes, I would see forever
Maybe I did, maybe that's how I knew that we were never destined to be together

[Chorus]

Verse 3
Sometimes hurting someone is the kindest thing that a person can do
What more can I say, I'm sorry if I caused your heart to bleed
You were always so kind and gentle and warm and I tried so hard to be that way in return
But you never asked me what I wanted, you just told me what you thought I need

[Chorus]
