How to snoop around in other member's photo albums.

Ever wonder what that message "This album is viewable by EVERYONE" in your photo album was all about? (well, the warning used to be there anyway) It means that anyone on ATS can go into your photo album and snoop around if they know their way around the system. They can use your pics in their posts too.

Since this shouldn't be such a big secret around here and it would be unfair to keep this knowledge to myself, I figured I'd make this thread with instructions on how to view other member's photo albums.

Step 1:
Click on the "Tools+" tab and select "pictures". Some people may need to log into their media center before continuing.

Step 2:
Click on "View Profile" on the top right of your pictures page and this will take you to your "Media Profile" page.

Step 3:
Once on the Media Profile page, you will see a tab marked "Members" in faded letters on the top left, click on this and it will take you to the Media Members Page. From there, you can view members by Alphabetical, Most Recent, Most Viewed or Search Members.

The best way to find someone it to use the "Search Members" option to look up the member whose photo album you want to see. The search function is not perfect and may not find the member you want if you don't spell their name correctly and even then it may not work. If search fails, you can look through the members alphabetically although this can take a lot of time.

Step 4:
Once you find the member you want, click on their name on the member list and it will take you to their profile. Once there all you have to do is click on the "View: Picture Gallery" option and it will take you to that member's photo albums.

Step 5:
Once you are on their "Photo Albums" page, you can select the photo album you want to look at and click on the "My Photos" button under that album. Some members have only one album and others have albums for their Avatars, Signatures and general pictures.

Once in their album, you can view everything they have in there. If someone is not comfortable with other members viewing all their pics, I recommend that you go into your album and delete any incriminating pics before everyone else can see them.

Just Remember this: Any pics you take out of your photo album will disappear from your posts as well. This can make your old posts and threads hard to understand.


Also remember: if you use someone else's pic from their album, it will disappear from your post if that other member deletes it from their profile as well. If you want to use a pic from another person's album, it is best to copy that pic to your own album and use it from there.

You can have fun with this by going into old banned member's photo albums and stealing their avatars to confuse the Mods, like I did.

It seems that the media page was meant to be another aspect of the social networking of ATS that has been underused. You can friend other members there and even post comments on their pics and media, although I haven't figured out to open my pics to comments yet. If anyone knows how, please post directions in this thread.

Everyone can feel free to practice this by searching my photo album, I don't put anything in there that's too incriminating, so go ahead and take a look.

You can also make your albums private so people can not snoop if you do not want them to

Hey thanks, I didn't know that.

Do you know how I open my pics up to allow comments from other members?

I don't mind if members snoop at my pics - I just wish ATS could fix mine - for the past 4 days I have been unable to click copy after scanning the code on any pic I want to post. When I right click the option to copy it does not pop up. Help please and snoop all you want! Thank you!

You can also go to a members profile with ONE step Just click on the member name above his avatar

so much just to look at someones pictures, ATS cant make a one button click with how this site is built???...really?? The navigation on this site is awsome, till it comes to posting pictures & videos. But then again, Im a moron.

The Media Profile is different from the Member Profile. The Member Profile takes you to that member's threads and posts.

The Media Profile takes you to all the Pics and video that member has uploaded onto ATS.

Its just another fun social networking feature of ATS that has been under used.

From your Media Profile page, you can friend other members and even post comments on their pictures and videos. Most ATSers only use their media page to upload pics to use in their threads and aren't even aware of the other stuff they can do from their Media Profile. I only stumbled on this stuff by accident while tinkering around.

Your Media Profile is like another Member Profile page where you can post your information and interact with other members.

if someone has the link can they still see the pic?

Honestly people why else would they have the feature to add more then just an avatar. Welcome to the year 1994 we call this social networking.

people are welcome to look through my photo albums on ats media. i really dont mind.
