So, I was browsing the web and got caught up into different disorders and medical conditions and alike when suddenly I came accross one condition that would categorize 80% of ATS'ers as suffering from that disease lol.

Ready? Here goes...

Schizotypal
-----------------
People with schizotypal personality disorder may be severely disturbed. Their odd behavior may resemble that of people with schizophrenia. For example, they may also have unusual preoccupations and fears, such as fears of being monitored by government agencies.

More commonly, however, people with schizotypal personality disorder behave oddly and have unusual beliefs (aliens, witchcraft, etc.). They cling to these beliefs so strongly that it isolates them from normal relationships.

BY THE WAY, I'm not trying to insult anyone so please don't get on my back for making a joke...

You realize. of course, that this proves you are a disinfo agent and have come here to screw up every chance we have of ever meeting the representatives of the Galactic Federation of Light - or of overthrowing the government of any nation.

As long as BIG PHARMA has a pill for it, I'm game.
Now that there is a diagnosis, there WILL be a pill.
Insurance will pay for it at first..Then when they find out how many of us like it.
They will move it OTC, next to the Pepto-bismol

Theres a medical condition for everything lately... the only reason for this is so that big Pharm. can trump up some new drugs and get them into peoples bodies as son as possible.

Believe in ET? Take this pill!

Believe in an overly intrusive government, take this pill!!

Believe your grandmother sucks on eggs? Take this pill!

It's all bogus. The mind is a very amazing thing. Big Pharm. would see to it that all of us are drugged just because we like to think outside the box. Don't fall for it.

There are certain medical conditions that require medication. Heart problems, high blood pressure, ulcers, ect. I refuse to believe that every one who thinks outside the box has a mental disorder. If mental health was looked at by the public at large the way it should be looked at, with no stigma or bias because some one has a mental health issue, the world would be a better place. No one should be diagnosed as a mental health case just because they believe ET exists, or because they think the government is watching them. In reality the government does keep tabs on us all one way or the other. Does this mean they have wire taps in all of our phones and tracking devices on all of our cars? No, clearly not the case. Are they interested in keeping tabs on as many citizens as they can? Yes, that is obvious by such things like the Patriot act, and TSA, among other more insidious methods....

why are they so paranoid that people who believe in aliens and big brother have a mental disorder, they sound like paranoids who think believing in something or educating ones self is a danger to them.

oh i see......

Some mental illness does exist though, and it can get far out of control if left to its own devices.
Still, I don't think drugging someone who does not believe they need it is the proper method of treating someone with a mental illness. If the person does not believe they are mentally sick, then psychologist and psychiatrists should not be insisting that they take pills to destabilize and deconstruct their reality. That's what conversation is for.

If, however, the person feels they 'realize' they have some mental disorder or instability, then treatment should be there. But the problem is that thanks to hardcore advertising campaigns by the pharmaceutical industry, everyone thinks they have something wrong with them. So now, instead of people going to specialists to ask for a diagnosis, they go to the specialist with their own diagnosis and are asking specifically for the pill. And even though the specialist still has to make their own diagnosis, their decision and interpretation is influenced because of the person already 'knowing' they require treatment.

It's true. I also have ATS Syndrome: I don't think what others tell me to think; any disorders they tell me I have which try to pidgeon-hole me(pigeon for those who still believe it is spelled that way) to think their way; I resist any non-conformity in any small way possible; I think very subversive thoughts and act on them(like buying lock-pick kits and locking and un-locking doors and putting magnets on computers, etc); agreeing with people then totally destroying their reasoning; wearing a mullet because its so out of fashion(girls love it still); following the Boy Scout handbook of etiquette; and just generally being a fly in the ointment of A-holes on ATS and ad infinitum. I guess ATS'ers are sick. I love we! LOL. Murry CHRISTmas from Tennessee.

Just a word that men in white coats throw at you to try and get you nice and drugged up and docile.

Don't believe the hype. Crazy is relative.

Religion. Not that religion isolates all followers from normal relationships, but then again nor does witchcraft or belief in aliens.

So they are saying that the professionals from the space/astro community who believe in extra terrestrial life all have a mental disorder? Thats almost funny.

I'd love to do a study on something like this, find all the disorders that are given out these days, then see how much of the worlds poplulation they affect.

Then make a list of all the things that you can't do if you have a mental disorder of any kind.

A restriction on owning weapons would be a start.

Haha I was psych minor and did my term paper for my abnormal psych class on schizotypal P.D. There are likely people here that suffer from this and other disorders but generally it will be someone who thinks the surveillance and theories are directly aimed at them. Being paranoid or beleiving in alternative reality theories are not indicative of mental illness.

Don't worry guys, you aren't all crazy.

Okay, this is just another way for NWO (who are ruled by grey lizards) to label everyone nutcases so they can start booking people of soft rooms and do some experiments with them. 18 years ago my spirit guide revealed my that this very exact thread would pop up in ATS which didn't exist back then. And when 30+ years ago I came to earth from undisclosed pleiadian star, I was warned that there will be only few astral places where people would believe my crap, but I found ATS to be one of them

/end of sarcasm.

Nope. I think ATS - while there are a lot of propaganda, fancy out-there theories, fear-mongering and stuff alie - contains some very brilliant minds and even us "laymen" who at least tries to remain reasonable and are not into this fear-hype and fantasy-believing... So no, this diagnosis doesn't apply ATS members in general.

Remember, often the small minority is the loudest one in order to appear greater than it actually is. And the huge majority quite likely stays quiet and watch all this in awe

When someone is actually followed, watched and tabbed, and he knows but can't proof it... Would that someone considered mental, and treated as such ?

Anyway I'm thinking about insanity, and that it actually is the norm these days ?

Genius and insane have only a small boundary. Also love and insanity are pretty close if it's not needed to be insane to fall in love.
