Wow. The poor or unemployed are actually allowed to eat nice food sometimes This must be stopped!
There's a pretty apparent line between decent food and sheer opulence.
The idea behind food stamps is to provide a stop gap measure while recuperating financially.
Allowing those credits to be used to purchase foods that are beyond "normal" pricing, is not serving this purpose.
Not saying the unemployed shouldn't buy lobster, but they shouldn't use taxpayer funded programs to do so. I know I certainly wouldn't do so if on
EBT...just on sheer principle. I'd be stretching that food dollar as far as I could.
The fact that some don't, makes you wonder if they are in legitimate need of the service. Don't you think?
