Why do people approve of violence on TV but are outraged if there is a sex scene????

Sitting with your family watching tv with violence is entertaining.

Sitting with your family watching tv with an erection isnt.

I agree. I personally don't want my children watching either one. The question is though, if you had to choose between sex or violence for your children to watch on t.v, what would you choose? I mean in reality they both have bad effects on children. Reminds me of when i was a kid back in the day. They had to take all cigarette/tobacco commercials off the t.v but yet they show many alcohol/beer commercials. I don't want my children to do either but if i had to choose i would rather them smoke. I mean really, is all of this based on what they make the most money from? I don't get it.

One thing thats always struck me as strange is that America has such tough standards for nudity on TV but produces more pornography then anyone else! It's confusing;

Being from the sexually unenlightened bit of Europe (Britain) I have had a few culture shocks when travelling around different European countries
I remember going into a supermarket in a small town in Greece and right next to the bread at just above waist height was a rack of EXTREMELY pornographic DVD's and I do mean EXTREME
I guess it was the only big shop in town so they had to cater for everything but their placement definitely made me do a double take
I had the same thing last time I was in Crete where there were packs of very pornographic playing cards at knee level in the tourist shops

Does that mean violent sex could cause certain American's heads to explode?

SHHHH! Mustn't tell the terra-wrists or they'll stage a xxxx-fest on Capitol Hill, and that will be the end of America's Christian leaders.

Have you ever been on a strict diet?
The more determined you are to be "good" and not eat naughty foods, the hungrier you get, until you're fantasising about food constantly.

Same with sex. If you have a way to get satisfaction and feel free to enjoy it, you can happily forget about it while you do other things.

Puritanism leads to an unhealthy obsession with pornography.

Sex is an very personal and PRIVATE thing, usually involving two consenting adults. Television is no place to depict this. They might as well show what goes on while one is sitting on the toilet
.

I simple avoid any shows involving sex scenes.
