You misread the article. Assange's defense lawyers are fighting extradition because it could open a legal loophole that would allow him to be extradited to the US from Sweden. The lawyers are working off the assumption that that is the endgame for the prosecutions efforts. The article also states that the US has not been able or even tried as of yet to build the legal framework for a case against Assange.

I was saying let WIKILEAKS die.. An inanimate object obviously, not the face of the organization.

That being said, I dont think if Assange was put away for life, or assassinated that I would lose any sleep.

I normally do but the rest doesn't seem to point to wikileaks in anyway what so ever which is why I left it out. It didn't seem neccesary..

Like I said, it seems like you are referring to Assange and Assange only here. Wikileaks wasn't even mentioned in the OP.

I understand now that you was talking about the organisation and not the lone figure here but surely you could understand the reasoning for my first 2 posts given what your post was seemingly hinting at from my point of view? (which is the calling of the death of Assange, someone whom I admire and still have faith in)

being arrested is probably the best think for him, some even publicly said he should be assasinated....weird...

he got one thing right in that video these leaks will eventually lead to war, but then again we've used other tactics in the past to get us to go to war with "just cause"

when wikileaks posts info regarding something substantial like UFO's or JFK assasination then will i listen

This is just a thought I had the other day but maybe the reason nothing like that has been posted thus far, is quite simply because there isn't actually anything to post at all.

As I’ve said before, don't shoot the messenger (wikileaks) here, they may not exactly be able to help what type of information they are given. They can only post what they can and it won't always be what everone would prefer to see.

You can't rate wikileaks trustwhortiness from how much the leaks confirm your beliefs....

It's like me saying I don't trust wikileaks unless they post evidence the earth is flat.

I doubt seriously that there is any huge file full of stuff worse than what has already leaked. Assange is going for the shock value, and I think he must be disappointed. There's nothing in the files already released that wasn't pretty well known already. They amount to diplomatic gossip. Assange is playing us all for fools because you know what? It's all about him.

Personally I don't know why people expect or what they expect.
He never said he had TOP SECRET files. Even Manning had said in this IMs that the files showed a pattern of corruption that BORDERED on the criminal, and called them SUBTLE in a beautiful horrifying way.

The files are mostly just confidential. That is a LOW, low level of classification there.

Now, he has said the key will be released if they are in danger. If he releases it now, it's gone. so what is to stop them from killing him? Or failing to protect him during transport?

If it were MY ace in a hole, I'd not give it up just yet. I don't see why he would.

Ok, that said - what the files contain - to me - at this point - is much less important than what the files have shown people are capable of OVER some low level secrets.

We've all known about the condom thing, for instance. I made it a point to tell that to my friends and family DAYS ago. Yet the tv news -MSNBC and Fox alike, and CNN especially - continue to call him a rapist and NEVER clarify any of that. My dad even challenged me on it. I said - "I'm not making it up dad, just wait, just listen - it will PROVE to you that our media is lying because it WILL come out."

So today I sent him to the drudge report.

I thought the information that the U.S. diplomats were ordered to spy on the U.N was pretty earthshattering... but the MSM was able to play it off or ignore it completely. I can't believe it's not a bigger deal.

I think that's a big deal and it has been burried and brushed off, however the cables don't stop, wikileaks have material to release for years to come in this tempo, so the nex time something serious comes up it will be a little harder to bury, after that even harder and so on.

there are two possible outcomes imo, one is that we get a more open society/government or we get full on internet censorship.

Either way, the battle is now and we choose the outcome based on what action we are willing to take.

with all that being said... you are taking a completely different approach now..

ok we'll hash this out in two completely different ways. first i'll fake my agreement with the fact that wikileaks is exactly what all of us want it to be. so wikileaks is bringing out all the facts and the knowledge of such truth from such a credible source would cause even the biggest sceptics to think twice. in doing this it has uplifted society as a whole, to see the true purpose behind it all. it has brought to public light that money is no more than a form of slavery, and that governments around the world use it to live the lifestyle of their dreams. in doing this wikileaks has caused society to lean on one another to take down the big bad wolf, and societies around the world have come to the truth we have been seeking for ages.

now i'll give you my honest oppinion. wikileaks is not in any way shape or form holding it's end of the bargain. wikileaks, has the absolute potential to DESTROY governments and make them fall. why? because they have DOCUMENTED PROOF FROM INTEL. they have the cold hard facts. so with that being said, it is now wikileaks responsibility to blow the roof off of everything. we're not talking about some dude talking about things they think are going on. this guy has the people themselves saying they did it. ADMISSIBLE IN A COURT OF LAW.

now with all that being said no matter which side of that argument you take.... wikileaks wouldn't be given the light of day on USA tv stations. it's that simple. you don't see it if they don't want you to. if you don't have to do anything more than flip the channel to hear about it you can bet your rear end it's meant for you to see.

so what is the fruit of wikileaks? as far as i am concerned it was only just cause for more bills that strip away your rights.
