I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, so Mods please move if needed.

Came across this article today, thought I’d share with you.

It’s rather interesting to see how we are just learning, what nature knew all along…




Clearly, more work is needed, not least in the study of how birds solve this problem.

Nature has mastered many such things long LONG before mankind. Examining fish scales to determine more efficient swimming gear or the creation of more resistant body armor... It seems even the Egyptians may have understood flight as evidenced by the wooden bird carving discovered. Which doesn't exactly surprise me considering if you make enough observations you maybe able to emulate something.

Very cool link and the study should offer further endurance for UAV flights.
