Amazing video from WREG News 3 showing how electronic pickpocketing works with your card still in your pocket. Anyone with the Visa Paywave or RFID in your card is vulnerable. This is amazing time to ask for cards without RFID.

I just wrote PNC asking if they offer a card which does not have a RFID chip inside so I can protect my account information. This also has implications for your newer RFID Passports as well.

When I am out Christmas shopping or doing banking at an ATF, I am on the look out for these guys. They better hope I do not see them at work.

Very interesting and I always thought this would pose as a problem for those pay waves. Primarily because if you are even close to them such as being second in line or something, I thought it would still essentially "take" the card just because you were close enough to it.

I should ask PNC as well, but then again I'm pretty much a broke college kid, my card would be turned down anyway

Dont rely on being on the lookout.... you had better rely on shielding instead...

I will update once PNC sends me a response as I asked them via the email contact form. I'm guessing they have nothing to replace which means I may look at using a Credit Union. My fear is that as this video and news spreads the method will become more used as criminals realize they can do this.

Call me old fashioned but I like having control over when I give out my CC numbers and to this day still black out my printed numbers at restaurants etc. (Some printed receipts at restaurants or whatever will print your full numbers and exp date all on the slip so scribble them out when you leave your slip)
