This is totally discusting. Happens exactly at the same time they send a warrant out. Remember folks, they say it's all about a broken condom! Swedes are really getting under my skin right now

lol no doubt. i mean, really people. lol i think it's the same thing we've all become so aware of lately: 1) it's okay if it's your side doing it but not okay if it's the other side doing it and 2) the other side appears to be, at the end of the day, on the same side as the side they were fighting against, which leads to 3) a bunch of witnesses (the populace) watching it all as if it were some greek comedy, pre-arranged for the viewing public, that could hardly be taken seriously at worst and might actually manage to make a small point at best.

Sweden has either been a puppet of a greater power or itself has handled this totally wrong. From the beginning they've showed incompetence in the matter. I'm not hearing much voices of objection or outrage from them over the matter either. This 'charge' carries a maximum sentence of 750$ and they're going at it like he is the next Hitler.

you sure it's incompetence? a couple years ago it crossed my mind that the leaders of the world's nations, are all on the same page. and they take turns declaring various kinds of war (there's more than one kind) against each other, in order to rid their populations of members they don't see fitting into their ultimate game plan. viewing recent (last 100 years) history from this perspective, provides are more understandable interpretation of the events. i don't think wars are reactionary. i think they're planned, and we see little glimpses of this but never tie them together because we're so busy trying to blame that other country for the problems. it's really quite brilliant, if true.

I can't find a better word to descripe this situation than incompetence. Repeated attempts to clear this matter have been denied by swedish prosecution. They make it out to be a huge crime against humanity when in fact it would carry such a small punishment even if maximum sentence would be issued. This is nothing but a global witch hunt

You just openly admitted to being a hacker on a public message board!

You're really not a hacker, period.

If you were you'd know that EVERYTHING is traceable. It's only a matter of time and resources.

Kids these days...

well, there are different types of hackers. white hat is a so called ethical hacker and there`s black hat aka cracker. he didnt specify what exactly he does.

imagine someone says "he created a little bug in the year 19xx". it`s an ambiguous piece of info. he could have created it in a school lab for all you know.

well we don't know that yet, since we don't know what's in the encrypted file, true? maybe the swedes know what's in there and view it as an attempt to destabilize the entire planet? that'd be bad.

This isn't really that big of a deal. The Swiss bank will give his money back. Assange will open another account somewhere else and link it back to the website. So I'm pretty sure he'll still appreciate any donations he receives. The way this article was written, which subsequently reflects the media's slant, gives the impression that Assange can no longer receive donations. This simply isn't true.

The US has been cracking down on Swiss banks this year pretty hard. The new US lead regulations released last October has made it increasingly difficult for them to carry the autonomy they once had. They are loosing a lot of US customers. I'm pretty sure they prefer it that way too.

Yes. exactly. They want them all at once. Thats the only conclusion to draw.

I guess the insurance file is the cable-gate files only (or so is being assumed). If so it will all dribble out slow and all be out eventually. The current strategy is effective and its being done this way under advice of the papers.

If a panic dump can be provoked its easier for the real dirt to get buried amidst an avalanche of celebrity fluff and some well placed diversions (oh look a dancing cat on youtube). It wont be possible to put it all on the news before interest fades.

People are lazy and have short attention spans.

what's to have attention over, in the first place? that governments do things the average citizen is highly encouraged not to do?
that govs behave badly by the same standards they ask their citizenry to uphold? the US is just the blinking target atm . lol if you think other govs don't do the same crap, you are not paying attention. to me, all this represents same old same old, nothing new.

... No. Just no. The two parties are both way more conservative than they used to be. I don't know what world you're living in.

Again, no. The Insurance file is a completely seperate entity, and was released around the time of the last major round of leaks back in July. WL knew that they were starting to get people worked up, so had this prepared.

Of course I did... its my how I make my money :-)

It's not illegal to be a hacker... and everyone I hack pays me to do so...

Not everything is traceable... however, as you mentioned this board is... but if you were a locksmith, would you be afraid of saying that in public?

I'm not sure why :-)

Not sure if this has been posted on ATS yet....

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, is expected to appear in a UK court tomorrow after his lawyers said he would meet police to discuss a European extradition warrant from Sweden relating to alleged sexual assaults.

I'm a hacker. What's your point? I've been studying security since I was 13, I'm now 21 and majoring in computer networking technology - specifically to become a network administrator and hopefully one day work in the security industry.

Really, what's your point?

THIS IS THE THING.

Like other posters have stated, this ball has already started rolling - Assange, being who he claims he is, is taking a massive hit for the betterment of mankind.

Now that this has started, all it's going to take is for Federal employees, and government employees of ALL the OBVIOUS fascists out there, including Sweden, France, America, Australia etc. to wake up, and once those who work within the closely knitted system realize the corruption - BAM!

There will be revolt, and reform, for the powers that be hopefully are demolished sooner, rather than later.

There was a statement back a ways that sure sounded like the insurance file is the current docs just set to dump should the PTB get hinky and arrest or kill him.(Assange who else?) That was what it sounded like..
I sincerely hope its separate, and as much as id like to believe that, i think not.
Sweden is acting at the behest of and in conjunction with the US and other interested parties no doubt.
I for one would like to hear a succinct presentation on Swedish rape law....How far into bed with their citizens do the swedish parlaimentarians get?It all sounds like a civil case more than anything criminal....
Its also a kind of he said she said deal. The US is going to persue far more severe criminal penalties onto assange just as soon as they declare him and wikileaks a terrorist organisation...just watch.....
If i was Julian id just dump the works in one massive go....put it all out there for everyone to see....
It would be irrepressable, then, it would have gone viral....I have two back up insurance files, as do many others...it would be like outbreak almost....
Not only that, but the pressure would then be OVER...Gone gone the damage done, to quote a Neil Young song...
The decks would then be clear to take the bank stuff out and dust it off.....but dump it, baby dump it!

Sweden, France, America, Australia

it's that their predominantly, white countries, isn't it? frankly, i don't see the difference between fascism and socialism. in both cases, ya have a bunch of poor people, and a few elitists. seems rather odd to me that these are even separated into different categories to begin with.
