help how do i add friends..

Now this may seem a silly question to some... I have tried asking a mod and got no reply but since they have changed the layout i have not been able to add freinds...
At the bottom of someones profile i clik the button and then go to the add freinds tab. All this does it bring me to my profile page. If i look on the page i cant see any of the peeps i have tried to add...
Am i doing somethin wrong and is it broke...

I can see them on your profile right now.

ETA: Anyway, if you want to add a friend, hover over the "member" button underneath someones avatar on the posting screen, and then click on "add as friend"

Explanation:S&F!

If you look at Your and My Avatars, you will notice that under the stats for wats and karma etc there is a blue members button [yep seriously thats the button! ] and if u hover over mine then a drop down list will appear...chose the pick as friend option and same to undo etc.
