Yet, there is something Israelis may prefer to hide. Ein Hod’s new artistic habitants are far from being innocent. Ein Hod is in fact Ayn Aawd, a 1948 ethnically cleansed Palestinian village. Unlike very many other Palestinian villages Ayn Awad was not destroyed. Though its habitants were brutally expelled, most of the houses remained intact. The Israeli Artists, are basically a bunch of plunderers. They also turned the village mosque into a restaurant/bar, the "Bonanza". It is obviously clear that the Israeli artist community participated actively in the Zionist crime.

I seriously doubt any of the people in Ein whatever were alive in 48' or had any part in the expelling of these people..

Also I'm sure that if you did any research you'd find out that while it was expelled (any solid proof of that? Other sources say it was abandoned.. But whatever..) in 48' it wasn't until 53' that the artist village thing was established, and by that time all of the Arab residents of Ein Hod rebuilt their village nearby and named it Ein Chud.

So all these claims of these people being plunderers and killers and ethnic cleansing and whatever are completely made up.

Whether or not it was cleansed in 48' is a different discussion, but it has nothing to do with the people living there right now.

... But this is just going to turn into another Israel bashing thread, isn't it?

You know what? Just to put some things in perspective- here's the story of Kfar Etzion Massacre which happened just next to Ein Hod

Long story short- The Jordanian Legion took over this Jewish village and massacred the defenders when they surrendered.

What I'm trying to say is- This was war, ethnic cleansing was not a Jewish thing, the only reason no one talks about the Arab ethnic cleansing and massacres is because Israel won and took back and rebuilt whatever was destroyed...

What about the hundreds of thousands of Jews living in Arab countries for hundreds of years, who were forced to leave during 1930's – 1960's, who many of them had to forcefully convert to Islam, who suffered robbery, burning, stoning and mass murder that ended with the death of hundreds of Jewish people, like in the Tripoli massacre or Eden massacre.
