Aside from causing cancer would saccarine be better than aspartame? Such as sweet and low in tea? I duno why, but I do not like sugar much. I prefer either of the above over sugar as far as taste goes. I quit smoking =0 7 months ago and have almost given up caffien except in the mornings. I was a train heading for a wreck. Coffee/Cokes all day, 2 packs of smokes a day, rare to see me drink water, fast food nearly daily, I did not exercise at all.

Well I quit smoking cold turkey after 14 years, I nearly gave up caffein, I exercise 4-5 times a week for 30 min arobic minimum for last 5 months (just added some moderate weight lifting). I have not really tried to cut back carbs or fat but I am trying to stay under 1200-1500 calories a day most days.

The problem is I gained around 30 pounds after I quit smoking and reduced caffien in January last year. I didnt quit diet drinks though. I tried atkins/low fat etc.. and had limited success. So Feb I started aerobic exercise 30 min a day drinking lots of water and I feel great now but I am not losing weight =/. So I'll try to stop drinking diet drinks and see if that helps the weight to drop. Oh I also tried relicore (made me feel relaxed) did not help me lose weight. I quit the relicore because I dont like things messing with my mind unless I take it for that purpose =).

So currently starting tommarow I am giving up diet drinks for a few weeks, still not smoking, going to drink lots of water, continue 4-5 day a week aerobics (heart above 150) and 2 days of weights, and a 1200-1500 calorie a day diet and see if cutting the asparetame helps. I'll let ya know! I will continue to have some coffee and tea.

Im 36 YO, 72" and 256 pounds. My metabolism must have converted to nicotine induced only over 14 years of smoking heh. I've never had such a hard time droping extra pounds.

Hey, Scat... Water Only sounds pretty hardcore. I don't know if I could do it, but it'd be interesting to try it and see what happens. Maybe if done along with vitamin supplements... *brain ticking away*

Well Im starting that today, actually! Water (lots) and my good old Luna bar. Ive learned, in the past, that if I drink enough water, it begins to satisfy thirst and hunger, and thats what Im aiming for. I'll report on the progress in a few days, which is when Ill probably break down and run for the toaster!
