For anyone who knows me I've been an Out of Body Explorer for at least ten years, when I taught myself how to do it back in highschool.
I've had the privelege to explore the cosmo's, alternate dimensions, .... and even for some time, caught glimpses of the future. Or a possible
future.
Whenever I see these things, it's as if I am living in that body, and experiencing them first hand. I can only speculate on timeframes, as I dont
remember seeing the date anywhere.
So we begin. This one was probably 30 - 50 years in the future by the look of things.
The first one was somewhat positive, we have continued to evolve as we have been the last 50 years with great strides in technology. The bridge has
been crossed between humanity and computers.
Every home has a central processing unit, which connects to every TV and computer in the house. From this people can program every aspect of their
home, even the temperature of their fridge. For the most part, things look similar to our time.
I remember my computer looking the same, yet when I went to use it I had to what we call " Jack-In" . Which is simply putting a headset on.
When I opened my eyes I was in a completely simulated enviroment which resembled a city, filled with other users who are also jacked in. We are able
to run, fly, go through walls, .... all with complete first hand perspective, ... as if we ARE actualy there. Imagine being IN something like
"second life" or the sims, yet completely realistic looking. People also are able to pay to take on the avatar, or "look" like their favorite
celebrity.
I remember thinking of a store, ... and automaticaly going there. I wanted to try on a red sweater, and it was automaticaly rendered on my body. I
assume your "avatar" holds all of your information, such as body size and payment info. Because I decided to buy it and it was all automatic, .....
yet this is the cool part.
When I jacked out, the sweater was already at my house. On this circular device, I dont know what they called it. But it had the ability to
re-create ANYTHING from scratch using a store of base materials, or atoms. So you dont actually buy the sweater, .... but the engineering which went
into it.
Seems like a great place right ??
Well when I went further things got increasingly darker, this next one is probably 100 - 150 years in the future.
California now resembles the worst parts of Mexico. Most "houses" are made up of remnants of old 20th century homes created out of whatever
materials they can find, pieces of greenhouses, plastic, wood siding, old tires, or whatever else they can find. I dont see any remnants of our great
technologies, perhaps I am too poor to afford any of it,..... hell, all of us are poor.
The corporations have won, poverty prevails, we are all " slaves " to the system.
I " work " for a local supermarket, its some kind of programs to help and give back to the community, I dont know what the original aim of it was,
but there is no work to be done, so we are left to do "advertising".
There is probably 30 to 40 of us, we basicaly march around the building holding ad signs up. It is hopeless work. Each day we are given a food
"kit". which is provided by one of the sponsors, ... so one day I might get a "Kraft Foods" kit, .. which holds 3 frozen meals for the day and a
snack, it also contains a thin mat we can sleep on. There are 3 to 4 .... "bases" for us, which resemble the large shipping crates, but inside they
have benches, tables and a microwave for us to use, lots of people also live in these. They never leave the premises.
When I went a little father, .... say another 40 years, it only gets worse.
I live/work at a factory, there are different groups, or people working here also, from different parts of the world, mostly eastern european. And
they all stick together and watch out for one another as it's some sort of prison. Needless to say stabbings are not uncommon being an american
minority. They take you out to make room for one of their own. The owners and managers dont care as long as the work gets done.
Even then the "work" doesnt resemble work. As my first job was to help on a makeshift production line, we were opening up containers of some kind
of industrial lubrication, or oil which was white and slippery. We would fill a milk carton half full of this, and add water to the other half, ...
then close it up. Basicaly watering down this product to sell it as their own. We dont ask questions, we work as hard and as fast as we can to avoid
being replaced.
There are children running around, and they help us out as well. Some people dont even work there officialy .... yet they stay because the compound
gives them protection from whatever is going on outside. It resembles the slums of India or something, kids running around barefoot, trash and
pollution everywhere.
The only aim is to survive, nothing more, nothing less. .....
There is no hope.
