tbh its not just a better wage...take for example the healthcare...u have to pay insurance to these big corporations in order to get operated on...otherwise u have to foot the bill yourself...here in the uk we get a small amount garnished from our wage....and our heathcare is there anytime, if i were to get cancer id get treatment no problem...also the amount of taxes americans pay is astounding...dont get me wrong we pay a fair amount here in the uk, but i dont think its anywhere near the amount you guys do...people say they want to live the american dream...i know i did when i was younger, when i thought of america i thought the best place on the planet....but does the american dream exist? i dont think it does anymore, i think nowadays its the american nightmare and wild horses couldnt even drag me there....

you guys NEED to take YOUR country back, get these giant corporations, corrupt bankers, and shady governments brought down and made accounatble and pay the penalty for thier actions and what THEY have done to your beautiful country.

America is still the greatest country on Earth

Hahahahaha!!! Good one! I think it's the oppressive TSA, deceitful mass media, mass drugging, failing economy, $13trillion debt, crap healthcare, crap transportation networks, no workplace representation, less pay and less holiday leave than the equivalent worker in Europe, worst western world education system, nasty crap processed food, FEMA camps and imposed religion that makes the US the finest country on earth. The US, is without a doubt, the worst place I have ever been to or spent time in, in my entire life. God Bless Europe.

Yes, i am aware of that. The point is that America has been seen as the stalwart, reliable home of Democratic Ideals for a long time and that we have betrayed that status by falling behind on those ideals. It's not that no one else can or does do it. These days there are nations that do it better. It's that we, as a nation, were proud to be the land of the free and the arsenal of democracy. We were proud to take in the oppressed and the hungry. We liked being the freedom people and we aren't those people anymore, but we could be.

It's an honor to be the "last line of defense". It's honor to be the nation that gives the free world something to fall back on, something to look at for reference, a symbol of bravery so that they can be courageous in their fight to become and stay free in their own lands. It used to be that if all else fails, at least you can turn to The United States of America for shelter.

Now it's become, "what the hell is wrong with the U.S."?

Not something to be proud of anymore.

www.usdebtclock.org...

Take a look at this page, then please give me a good reason why America is 'the greatest country on Earth'.

Please make careful note of the bottom of the chart, the bit where it says 'Unfunded Liabilities'. You think $13 trillion is a lot of money.............

Good luck with that.

As an American I agree with you. I don't see how people can take all this crap and still call america the greatest place on earth. Obviously they haven't left the country. lol

Well, America got selective in it's immigration even before WW2. But I can see what you're saying.

Those unfunded liabilities are our social programs, stretching out for some length of time.

58 trillion is the estimate for Social Security for the next twenty years. That's a total cost of ~38,000 dollars per year per each of the 78,000,000 people that will be drawing from the system as the "Baby Boomers" generation retires, in total costs.

We have medicare, which is even larger, unemployment which is volatile (not looking good right now), disability, welfare and other smaller programs.

In our defense, i think if you looked at the same figures for other socialized western nations you would find shocking numbers on their clocks as well, in this regard.

Not good...

Have you noticed the riots in the Euro Zone with their better "standard of living" Truth? Who says it's better, the Socialist morons that created the bankrupt situation they're in now? There isn't one example of Socialism ever helping the middle class or one example of a country not going broke eventually from Socialism. It always fails to deliver on the promises. Our Free Market system is having trouble now because of socialist policies, or hand outs that cannot be paid for. The only people that have ever prospered in socialist or communist countries are the ruling class and always at the expense of the people. It doesn't take long to review history and how Socialism, Communism, and Marxism always lead to bankruptcy!!!

So because citizens are standing up to their government the standard of living is automatically meant to be lower. No, we are defending our standard of living. I hope they continue rioting, let them riot harder!

Look how much you've spent on war:
en.wikipedia.org...
www.fas.org...

With different priorities, priorities towards LIFE not DEATH you'd have a lot more money for social welfare.

Oh and the financial problems we are having are due to the fault with the BANKS.

Yeah agreed. I'm just posting so much because I feel I have to defend "other countries" against a lack of knowledge of these other countries.

I left the military and stayed in germany for a year, and that was the best, financially stable, enjoyable time of my life. The only reason I came back the Great State of Texas was to go to school, and then return to Germany. Unfortunately I am still her with an arrogant woman, and barely making enough for rent and food even thoughI work for FOX network center.

But..... I still love my country.... even as a black man.... God bless the U.S.A.

You Sir are more than the backbone of this country. You exemplify the tenacious endeavor to succeed, prosper and be free. It is men like you that are the life blood of this country.
And sadly the parasitic members of the American Bar have opened a wound, causing our rights and privileges to be sucked away.
You Sir are not alone. One day, soon, you will be inspired to join in the rebuilding of our great nation.
Vote often.
G_D bless the USA

symbol of bravery ...free in their own lands....that may have been the case many many many many years ago, but u americans seem to have no fight left in you, no bravery, and certainly no freedom.

if you did there would be a revolution happening right now, what you people are just "putting up with" right now is amazing me....and not in a good way, ur country is being pulled out from under your feet like the preverbial rug, yet u all carry on accepting everything that is FORCED upon you...why?? why arent you all standing up and fighting for what u are entiled to as americans....freedom of speech? no more. you cant even grow ur food, you are being pidgeon holed by the people u elect, by the big corporations and by the bankers, im looking in from the outside and im sickened....YOU AS THE PEOPLE NEED TO STOP THIS!!

Every aspect of the United States is calling for a revolution, that is, if the people will even realize what's really going on. The standards of living in most western European countries make the U.S. look like a third world country in absolutely all aspects.

[mo

they need to try harder, they need to wake up the sheep, its the sheep that are holding the country back, they are the ones that continiously bend over and take it up the ass without any argument, no fight no drive, just work as usual.

the few who know whats happening and who are angered HAVE to wake up the rest by whatever legal means possible, only then will they be able to have a revolution, im all for fighting for americans civil and humanitarian rights, ill jump on a plane and be groped and man handled to help, and im british....yet the americans themselves dont even seem to care so whats the point...its either fight NOW or dont and end up a complete fascist country and live with the consequences.

its a shame.

I find it abit conceited to say that, it's like saying 'I'm the hottest guy on the planet. Everyone wants to be like me and you must love me'

Its called pride... And I AM the hottest guy on the planet, and everyone wants to be like me, and everyone loves me. Such a huge ego right?... Thats why I love me and my country

...and why nobody else does.

Seriously - this sort of self-delusion is NOT attractive.

I agree. This swaetshop working in america, all started a few years ago, when corporations got stronger. OUtsourcing to India, and hiring illegals, and treating us, like them. Theyde hire soemone form india, because thier willing to work for no pension, half the salary, and do twice the amount of work. the reflection of that, was froced on us citizens, those wanting to work but wanting to live a social form of life its called globalization
and its gunna get worse i think...at least the greedy CEO's have decided they ahve stolen enough for thier workforce and the public

But they ARE doing something about it - by speaking up and voicing their concerns and opinions in the hopes of getting things changed........only to get constantly shot down by people like you making them feel like they are not welcome in their own country.

Bully behaviour? Abso-bloody-lutely.
