Australia has an incredibly tight lockdown media policy; the events of 9-11 (the elephant in the room) are rarely mentioned, let alone debated. Shhhhh, it's a secret, no leaks please.
So why in the land that gave the world Rupert Murdoch, and left his son to darken our news rooms, are these people giving so much press to our behemoth leaker, Julian Assange? And obligingly Assange has been feeding the media directly instead of going through 'indie' circles.
I mean there's been some real damaging stuff come out of Wikileaks -- like we all now know that Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton both fart in the bathtub. Geez what's next? But it's really reassuring to hear that ol' Julian thinks that everything is okey dokey with the government version of 9-11. As we say 'down under', "This guy is 'on the nose'."
But I might try getting a little press myself. Psssssst, here's a leak: the Burj Dubai is a steel-framed skyscraper built in the same manner as the Twin Towers, and guess what? If there's a fire -- because these suckers don't fall down during fires -- they have special rooms you go to and wait till they put the friggin' fire out. But please keep it a secret. Shhhhhhhhhhhh!
And especially don't tell Assange -- the guy friggin' leaks everything!

I have no idea what you're talking about to be honest... I have not heard one news item about that guy in a long time.. I read about him HERE more than anything.

But if there is a reason why anyone in Australia would care, perhaps it's because the guy IS Australian?

Why don't we talk about September 11? Why should we, what the hell difference would it make to us, now, today?

What a silly thing...

When we DO talk about Assange, it's because he is Australian. He is our kid out there, bringing down foreign governments, so ofcourse we would be interested, and ofcourse the public (if they even give a # about anything) would be interested. Like badwolf sais, we rarely talk about 9/11, because we don't really have to give a # as it's not our national interest and when we do, it's out of international interest.

Where did you get the title from?
It's certainly not from the link and I doubt the truth in it..
Australian media is mixed on Julian, as are most people..
They even had Government on today saying they may seek to stop the media printing the leaks and look at investigating Julian for criminal activity..

So your title is crap...

Because he is a whistle blowing hero of freedom for us all. Dont know how long the lover affair will last, if thats it is, I would not be supprised if the Australian goverment hands him over to the US one way or another. Dont forget we are Americias best friend (or is it lapdog???)

Haha! Completely off(on) topic:
All I have to say is that I love you Aussies! You guys rock!

Tell it like it is- Frankly I didn't even know Assange was Australian- And us Americans tend to be so ridiculously self-absorbed it's insane.
So, I agree, why would you guys talk about 911- frankly, all we do here on this bored and sometimes (some more than others) in public- but what do we really do about it? ..... Thats right, we whine and complain and fight about technicalities- but actually 'do' nothing!!

And furthermore has Assange actually been asked about 911 and/or denied knowledge of any wrongdoing? Im not being sassy, I really haven't had the chance to read all the cables.
And no, I dont want this to turn into a '911' thread- just a question from a clueless woman.

A lot of the American news agencies say it's "un-patriotic" what Assange and Wikileaks is doing. I find it funny because he's Australian so how can he be being un-patriotic towards America?

True, but I'd also add it seems like it's them being un patriotic by hiding behind national security and lieing to their people and world leaders to get what they want..

You probably meant to say that he's your agent provocateur assisting the CIA/Mossad to create interactive bread and circuses for the masses while TPTB tighten their grip. The US's credibility is already shot. All WL is doing is setting up Iran as the next target. Wake up. Assange is a either a well-paid traitor or an incredible patsy. Aw, heck - both.

I can't remember hearing what his opinion is on 9/11 but it's pretty obvious he doesn't trust ANY government..
And yep, true aussies usually don't stand for much BS..

Yes, Im skeptical of him myself- At first I want to think that he(wikileaks in general) is what MSM should be! Real News- yet, my devils advocate reasoning is wondering if this is just the way to adjust the population toward slightly creeping internet control or dismantlement.

Antichrist? Savior? Either way, we all hear about these major corruptions and what do we do? Nothing. We do nothing. We flip on some reality show on tv or play w/ our $200 iphones.
I give the hell up....

Sorry Im off topic again...just frustrated! Pardon me please.

I'm merely posting the "official" story without having to go on a tangent about the various conspiracy theories regarding why he does what he does. But uhh, thank you, for doing that for me. By the way, let's wait for the rest of the leaks to come through before assuming it's a set-up for Iran. Just because the leaks so far "target" iran in the current political climate does not mean that was on the CIA agenda. It could be mere coincidence. No-one would be crying out "conspiracy!" if the leaks targeted another country not coinciding with the current political climate. Like I said, let all the leaks come through.

If there is nothing by the end of the leaks that rapes the US government, then I will be very very disapointed.

I appreciate your response- b/c I honestly dont know if he revealed any 911 information, and I'd think if he does truly want to screw American Government then he'd be all over that topic-...hmmm... or save the juiciest for last, who knows?

And yes, my country is still full of beautiful enlightened patriotic people- but they are becoming increasingly rare I find.

And dont worry my friend, Im a New England gal fighting all the elements and challenging all the 'rules' in the most polite and eloquent way- my loyalty to the foundational roots of our beginnings pumps through every blood vessel in me - I am a Yankee, but I can hang with my best of my Aussie brothers and sisters! God Bless you all!
Oh and, "FOSTERS- Australian for the beer we think tastes like piss, but know you dumb Americans will drink it like fishes simply b/c of the label"-

Nothing important will come out. Assange supports the 9/11 OS! Previous Wikileaks pointed to WMDs in Iraq - even the US gov't admitted there were none. Ask Assange and he'll tell you bin Laden is alive and a threat to us all - I kid you not!

I hope I'm wrong about what will come out, but with his track record, I highly doubt it.

I agree- I hope you're wrong too- I hope he does come forward b/c if he says nothing about 911- reveals nothing about the one major issue that riles us up then you are right that he is not out for the good of the people- he is merely another puppet. Being that the US is still so very mindful of that day- whichever side of the story you are on- and the fact that we KNOW something was fishy-(Im not stating the gov. did it or that they knew or not)- merely b/c of all of the many people asking questions without answers. Different commissions, reports, etc. There would HAVE to be at least some talk about it- somewhere, somehow-
If there isn't then its all bogus-
I think Ill go with puppet for now before I drift to sleep.
I hope whoever is in control of this global chess game or Battleship, whathaveyou, are enjoying themselves at our expense. It must feel so good to be so evil and manipulative, huh? At least Im able to look myself in the mirror before I go to sleep at night.

I searched, Julian Assange said this about 9/11..

I'm constantly annoyed that people are distracted by false conspiracies such as 9/11, when all around we provide evidence of real conspiracies, for war or mass financial fraud."

It may be that he simply sees better targets than the 9/11 conspiracy to show what TPTB are up to, with proof already leaked..
Maybe he simply has no 100% proof of 9/11 yet and he's carefull what he says so as to keep his reputation.
I don't know...

I certainly dont see a love Affair with the Aussie press and J.Assange...only this morning the Defence Minister told National radio that JA may well be arrested should he attempt to enter Oz....

the majority of Aussies dont even know who he is by name, I suspect....but by the time this lot is over I imagine most people will know his name...BIG business is next, with leaks early next year....

I shouldn't really have to clarify that Assange is all over the Oz media -- that's the print media, online media, radio and television. Please do some research before posting.
And I shouldn't really have to clarify Australia's connection with the events of 9-11, which was the catalyst for the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan--a conflict in which our troops have suffered 170 casualities including 21 fatalities. And I shouldn't really have to qualify -- on a forum where you are expected to do at least a modicum of research-- that Assange has publicly stated that those who dispute the official governments' (and that includes the Australian and UK governments) version of the events of 9-11 "annoy him" -- and he does not believe that the event was an "inside job".
You don't need to polarise the debate about Assange by loving or hating him because that stifles debate.
Just watch the game very closely. And apart from getting Bradley Manning nailed to a cross, just whom has Assange brought to justice with his voluminous leaks?
