Well, I was about ready to admit a humble defeat, (I'm still new at this), but it seems as though I'm more intrigued as to why there is so much conflicting information on this guy. The conference took place. I think the news source may indeed be valid, BUT some of the details might be off which has caused confusion with trying to verify who he is. Just a thought.

Hmmmm....

I have found a reputable reference to a conference and an Alaa Shahein here:

The First International Conference On Ancient Egyptian Science

Apparently this conference took place in April of this year.

I am on a mission to find this online...somewhere! The guy exists, that we know. We also know he was at a conference in April, so it is very possible he said this. I did find him listed as staff on Cairo University's site
posted a pic of it.

Very interesting information, if proven to be true. The awesomeness of the pyramids and their construction always intrigued me, as the current scientific explanations about it don't satisfy me at all. Just in case, I believe aliens may have something to do with this, and also believe in Jesus Christ as my personal saviour. I just don't see why these statements have to deny each other.

There are MULTIPLE cairo university websites. A few look like some odd geo-cities knock-offs, connected to @yahoo.com emails.. They stink of Scam, in my opinion.. it looks like the ACTUAL school website is 193.227.13.20... and www.cu.edu.eg... seems to lead to the knockoff website.. hrm, I'm confused, but something SURE is fishy.

Here is a link to the program of the conference. It shows him as a chairman but I don't see where he spoke.

He very well could have spoke and not have been one of the speakers set to speak. He could have said this to anyone..I also see Hawass was there so he probably gave him the evil eye when he mentioned aliens

daily itinerary for conference

I posted a link already at the bottom of page two to the University and the staff page for Egyptian Archaeology. He is on their site as being in charge of Egyptian Antiquities for the University. The site is in Arabic and I used google translator to navigate through it.

it's difficult to argue with this one!

Not really.

I was unaware that giant stone blocks were alien technology but I guess if a guy with a Doctor in front of his name says so I have to believe it

In all seriousness, at least on first glance, it seems like a sad attempt to stir up more popularity or publicity for archeology and Egypt in general. Perhaps trying to generate more tourism or spark public interest. If this guy is serious, however, I look forward to seeing his research on the subject, after it has passed proper peer review of course.

why this guy's identity and credibility is still in question 3 pages in is surprising...

Dr. Shaheen was the director on the last two expeditions into the Labyrinth of Egypt in 2008 and again in 2009...a University of Cairo project partnered with none other than Wroclaw University in Poland.

His credibility or expertise should not be questioned...

Personally i find his demeanor and honesty refreshing as compared to Dr. Hawass.

If Dr. Shaheen were willing to speak, i'd be willing to listen..

I've always liked to imagine several civilizations that may have been on Earth before our most recient one. And a always a few teachers seem to pass on information to next generation to rebuild with.
Cool Stuff.

Agreed! I will never understand why people don't read a thread, esp when its only 3 pages and there have been many posts stating who he is. He is credible and I would rather listen to him than Hawass any day.

I personally dont question his credibility or expertise, its just that the original source of the statement he allegedly made is not credible. And also, is not seen in any mainstream serious news site.

So you need to hear it from mainstream serious news sites? That depends on your definition of "serious news sites." I don't discount any site honestly, I do my own research on something. Even mainstream sites are full of crap at times.

I so hope this info turns out to be reliable ... it would be the authentication I've been waiting for since I started my own (ongoing) project in this field in the mid-90's.

I shall watch this one eagerly !

For those interested in this subject who would like to read about my take on it ... that I believe touched 'ALL' ancient civilizations around the world ... not just in Egypt, from a 'what if' perspective ... just step outside the box and click the a link to my website - 'The Atlantean Analysis' (even my thoughts on Atlantis are different to the usual ideas) ;

theatlanteananalysis.webeden.co.uk...

Let's hope this guy is the real deal.

Oh I have researched this claim...and I want to believe it very much....and even came across a Polish archeologist named Marek Nowak ( not Novak as cited at source, but close enough) who could have been the person who asked the question we are debating.
But considering the enormity of Prof. Shaheens alleged statement, one has to assume it would be big news everywhere rather than the type of sites carrying it today.
Also, I do know that this has been discussed elsewhere and emails sent to the Professor to hopefully get more light shone on the subject.
We shall see....and hope.

Given what has been uncovered thus far, I'm willing to stake claim that this is more likely true than not. The conference exists, the man exists, and a report of what he said exists, even if from an alleged hoax site. If true, this "hoax" site has just earned a few reputable points, no?

Back to the original idea....I wonder what is in the pyramid? Any thoughts?

My frontal mind would like me to believe this,.
But my inner mind says,.
"And this is not making headline news?"

the guy seems to exist.

I am trying to figure out if this talk exists and what context its putting in..

I can take snippets from the bible and make it look like a cookbook, or porn novel, or a satanic novel, etc...context is important.

Could we contact the Ancient Alien show and see if they would find this man and interview him? Would be worth a shot and our time no?
