** Two, if you wouldn’t do something like this to put food on your kids plate? What does that say about you? And what does it say about you as a person to judge a culture and people you know ANYTHING about?

*** Third, IT’S CHINA - and there is NO WAY any WESTERNER is EVER going to completely understand such a diverse culture.

So look around you at the atrocities in the USA - and then ask yourself ‘are they doing it for sport or to feed their families, or for the big bucks and rush of it?’ (Dog racing, fighting pit bulls, training coursing animals with live bait, etc)...

And let's not forget eatting meat, using cosmetics, how about those pills you take for your hot flashes? (Ever read up about Premarin Foals??)

Us or China its all bad. What if these animals all have larger manoid type cousins from the stars. I would imagine ALL CULTURES WOULD ADJUST.. If they knew the consequences. But I see your point silo13 dont point finger at 1 nation when others are = as ignorant to animals. But I still feel its wrong from my personal perspective and there has to be other employment but thats what those who feed their families go to work to do destroy another species family...

I guess it just turns me inside out to see people with pitchforks and torches going after the Chinese for this when they've been doing it longer than most Western Countries have even been civilized.
It's THEIR culture, their way of life and ‘we’ have NO RIGHT to censor them. Especially when we have the same sins and worse going on right under out noses!

We want to clean up our own act first? Fine. Until then the Western world has to stop tying to save the rest of the world and pay attention to it's own people.

Lions, tigers and bears all do it. The cat family is especially well known for 'playing' with their prey.

The weasel family can be really unkind to their 'foodstuff' also. They apparently enjoy killing, as a weasel will kill every chicken in a henhouse, with no remote possibility of eating them all.

While this is happening in China our treatment of animals is most definitely a issue of our species as a globe. Our willingness to carry out such acts comes down to the one thing that has been detrimental to our society psychologically - money.

Anyhow, I think people need to Understand, China is not The united states. they have their issues and are trying to better themselves. these things take time. As far as the video goes, It's their way of life so deal with it. If you dont want to see it then tune out. If you feel like you need to go and tell the world how bad it is, Then so be it.

There isn't a person alive that hasn't killed something living within their lifetime. And everytime you step on a bug because it was in the way or annoyed you, Did you eat it? No. Probably not. Did you ever chop through dense woods to get to where you was going? Killing plant life along the way.

We as people should be worrying about how humans are treated and all the bad things that happen to them. You know, Not to long ago here in the good old united states, Seals where killed the same way. Clubbed to death. Very inhumane. But we have gotten better over the years.

If you live in china, then you have every right to speak your mind about the way these things are done. If you dont live there then who are you to say anything about it? Dont buy furs from china then. Buy them from the united states where these animals get shot in the head. Killing is killing no matter how you look at it.

And Peta is a joke in my eyes. these people will be violent towards humans to save an animal. That makes no sense at all. Just like the people saying they would go over there and club these people to death for doing these things, That makes a lot of sense dont it? And people wonder whats wrong with humans.

Do i think killing animals for fur or food is wrong? Not at all. Do i care how it is done. Not in the slightest. I have way to many other issues in life to care about how they do it. Problems like, How to feed my family and keep them warm. On that same note, Why would i want more synthetics in my life. That is a bigger issue to me. Living things become part of the earth. Synthetics do not. They are a hazard and killing us faster than you think.

They only give a # when the animal being killed is "cute". You kind of people digust me. It's what is apparent in this society, a society of hypocrisy and double-standards.

Most things on this planet have some kind of life. Plants, meat, insects, bacteria in the air.. Yet you kill these things every day, whether through to naivety, disgust, or hunger. Take a look at yourself before you go calling other people "demons" for doing this. Oh and by the way, if you want to continue your holier than thou attitude, why don't you stop eating everything, and just die. Yeah, you won't kill anything anymore.

Finally, animals do this all the time, they eat their prey alive. They eat them ALIVE. Lions, dogs, cats, insects... We are PERFECTLY in tune with nature, it is a bit of a show of egotism to believe that we are above nature and are destroying it. I could go into some metaphysics but I won't bore you with that.

True story...my moms friend was transfered to China. Her stay got extended and she decided to get a pet to keep her company. In the market she saw a dog tied to a post and bought her. The market lady took the dog in back, came back with her dog cut up in portions...can u imagine?

I agree with you on the point that its not just China but many countries that do horrific things to animals and each other.
However I disagree that its due to culture/religion/beliefs/customs. That's just a poor and inadequate response.

Humans inflicting pain and death on animals in general for monetary gain is dense, cruel and unjust.
Be that Bull fighting, hanging dogs after races and shooting animals for sport just to mention a few, is simply disgusting.

There are always choices when it comes to working to put food on the table.

At some level we all know right from wrong, just from unjust.

Westerners are just as guilty.

Milk for example, we impregnate cattle, make them abort the fetus using drugs so that the milk production is high. Vast majority die.

If you live in the country you will hear lambs cry out for their mothers when they are separated, only for it to stop when the trucks come to take them to the meatworks.

Horses are disposed of when no longer good to race or dont make the cut, off to meat works.

Dolphin and whale slaughters because "it been done for generations" is not acceptable.

US beef being injected with growth hormones to make them larger....no comment here.

Ducks being forced fed on order for the livers to grow extremely large for human consumption...

Human sacrifice to the gods...

Baby llamas ( aborted ) burnt in order to appease the gods. This goes on today in latin america.

and many more examples of Religious sacrifice and Economic sacrifice.

Just because it has been done a certain way in the past, does not make it acceptable. We are evolving all the time and that should include the brain, mind, ethics and morality.
