Hey, all! After multiple attempts to access Wikileaks, it appears to be down yet again.
Running checks on 7 independent pinging sites to test the status of Wikileaks, including downforeveryoneorjustme.com, checksite.us, downrightnow.com and isthatsitedown.com, it is apparent it is down all across the board. Is this in preparation for the torrential exposure?

It seems we're about to be let in the know very soon- most reports stating midday today as the time of release, some predicting in as little as a few short hours.

The sheer expected volume of documents to be released is astounding. Last month's spill of over 400,000 sensitive documents was, a huge deal for many, although those weren't as mind-blowingly important or revealing as we had hoped.

Perhaps this incredibly large, (possibly 7X as much as last), unveiling will prove much more significant.
And what with the response the US and various other governments are showing in regards to the impact the documents' publication will have, I'm expecting nothing less than substantial evidence of corruption, illegal action and/or misconduct on many levels of power.

This could be huge, people. Get ready!

I thought i read in another thread that wikileaks got DDoS'd. If that's the case the DDoS attack probably went after one of there many proxy's.

They might just be protecting themselves from the hacking going on at the moment; www.abovetopsecret.com...

As a matter of fact, the US government is using something called DDOS against them, to instigate a sort-of cyber war. It's so they are warning Wikileaks seriously to not release the information. Nothing coming up or down, they are just trying their best to fight back and protect the information at all costs.

doubtful...these docs are already released...all they would have to do is simply give the password out and voila...its out.

its been on thepiratebay for a couple days now....there is no stopping it...I imagine they are simply updating the page for the release...no government is stupid enough to do such an ineffective move.

Funny, Wikileaks.org is working fine for me.

The DDOS measures taken against Wikileaks are not going to stop the information's release. It's already held by other independent groups affiliated with Wikileaks. So even if DDOS shuts the site down, it will make it to the public one way or another.

I agree, this could be a 'safeguard' against such an attack, which given the level of government concern, is a very real possibility. Just like last month. Up, down, up, release.

In Scotland? I wonder where Animatrix is accessing from?
It's completely down for everyone I've talked to. 8 separate downsite checks and a few phone calls, and it's looking pretty dead from my end.

Is it possible to be blocked only in certain areas, like Canada and the US to protect itself from cyber attacks?
But then why would it be open elsewhere?
Hmmm... fishy...

Well, They actually have been on the internet since early July. This is either a different insurance file, or the same file.....yeah, I was kinda hoping It'd reveal extraterrestrial information. Nothing about the war on Iraq could do anything as massive as they've been hyping it up. Oh well.
