I'm thinking of starting up some sort of foundation to study ancient cultures and use their beliefs to help change our lives today. this sounds like a some sort of cult but it's not, it's more like a gentle man's club (not excluding females) like the one jules verne was in.

would anybody in this forum be interested in joining this sort of organization?
at this point any help you can give would be helpful

I saw no better place to start this thread than in this forum

so far every one here seems eager and excited for these types of things

You might want to try Ancient Civilizations: www.ancientsites.com...

For decent reconstruction of ancient thought and religious practices, I recommend the Celtic Reconstructionists, the Khemites, Religio Romana, the Asatru (these are reconstructionist religions, and the people involved in them do a lot of research and are real sticklers for authenticity and scholarship.

Beliefnet is a good place to start:
www.beliefnet.com...

And
www.religioustolerance.org...

I haven't seen many of the mystery schools online that seemed terribly authentic.

Would be great, if you really mean this, then count me in. Although I'm quite busy this month.

This organization... will there be meetings?

(You've all seen Grosse Point Blank right?)

I'd love to be a part of something of that nature. Do you have it planned out though? And how exactly are you going to pull it off??

i would love to be part of such an organisation, but it's not that easy a task as one would think. i am from norway, so it is a long way to any significant site around the world.

Actually, I although I am hopelessly egotistical (being American and all) I can't call Norway insignificant.
1. The best and most significant man I've ever personally known was from Norway.
2. 50% or more of Americans wouldn't name Norway if you gave em 30 seconds to name every european country they could. Any place that's "out of the way" is my sorta place, and since Norway probably offers one of the better standards of living as out of the way places go, I gotta say it wouldn't make a bad safe-haven should America ever crumble to the ground.

I would be up for it, as long as there is clear organisation. Fell free to message me with details.

I am from the UK by the way......and would much prefer to be in Norway too!

eeh, i was actually talking about significant arceological sites though. but i do understand the confusion.
i don't find norway insignificant either. many great men come from here. and wasn't it a norwegian viking that "discovered" amerika?
