Always for truth and justice.
Any violence as a recourse just proves it is necessary.

Strange point of view since attaining truth often or not means making sacrifices. In our era truth will be paid with by blood.

The following quotes by Thomas Jefferson are a few of the many he had on this subject:

"We are firmly convinced, and we act on that conviction, that with nations as with individuals, our interests soundly calculated will ever be found inseparable from our moral duties."

"Political interest [can] never be separated in the long run from moral right"

"So invariably do the laws of nature create our duties and interests, that when they seem to be at variance, we ought to suspect some fallacy in our reasonings"

"I never did, or countenanced, in public life, a single act inconsistent with the strictest good faith; having never believed there was one code of morality for a public, and another for a private man."

"It is strangely absurd to suppose that a million of human beings, collected together, are not under the same moral laws which bind each of them separately."

"The successful example of recalling nations to the practice of justice by peaceable appeals to their interests, will doubtless have salutary effects on our future course."

George Washington said, "The foundations of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of private morality, and the preeminence of free government be exemplified by all the attributes which can win the affections of its citizens, and command the respect of the world"

How can you say you stand with the founding fathers if you think its ok to cover up corruption? You can't.

100% for Freedom of the True Press and complete Transparency, and want our current system reforned grass roots. By the way, this thread, like a few others that would be monitored intently as well, took a long time to load and my typing is slow as if against resistance, same as when I'm monitored in my chats and emails, which happens a lot do to our sitings and subject matters. Obviously monitored.

So I guess they really want to know.

Go Wikileaks Go!!!!

This being said, I'm not altogether convinced that this isn't a game being played out where the government is playing the bad guy, but the wiki leaks is also doing exactly what its supposed to be doing in the script according to the bloodlines. I will be carefully assessing what comes out.

the people that stand for truth have no need for violence, truth in itself is justice enough. its the others who will stand up for their lies that need violence, its the only way they can stay in power. if people were smart enough, they'd realize all you need to do is escort the wrongdoers to jail from their offices, and everything can move along smoothly. the police and military are people too. they have to understand that truth and justice is not an isolated matter that is relevant only to ordinary citizens. if they understood that, there would be no violence at all during a 'truth revolution'. sadly, no one understands this, most of all the ones who claim to be serving truth and justice. they only know what their chiefs tell them.

I might support the work of Wikileaks, if it somehow followed the principles of balanced reporting.

So, when releasing classified American documents about the American prosecution of the war ion Iraq...release similar documents, balancing, about how the war was being prosecuted by Al Qaeda in Iraq (or other radical elements).

When dumping classified documents about how America and its Allies are conducting the war in Afghanistan...dump documents detailing how the Taliban insurgency is conducting itself.

When spewing hundreds of thousands of confidential diplomatic messages from the USA...spew just as many messages from Russia, China, Iran, Cuba and others who are at opposition to America policy and views.

Why does Wikileaks only vilify America...and why do you and others buy into this obvious and one-side national character assassination?

I think the MSN spews enough information about our suppsed enemies the Taliban etc...
As for the other countries, I heard wikileaks was intending to do just that, but I guess they need to get the information first and that may be a little harder from say China...

Why to be either?

Wikipedia is, it doesn't need me to agree or disagree.

I reserve any judgement, but I often find myself curiously browsing what they have leaked.

Many of us come on ATS to complain about our freedoms and our rights being taken away from us in favor of security and our critics tell us "If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about!".

Now Wikileaks has shown up to reveal secret information to the masses. Our governments are scrambling to take them down. All I have to say is... If you have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to worry about!

And I am going to put that in my signature.

curious how there is a slight whisper on here that wikileaks is involved somehow with governments.

i hate the thought of violence and suffering, but love it when governments look silly or look like liars [surely not,you say!],but, id be let down if wikileaks was 'sanctioned' by someone.

im For,mostly.

Let us usher in a new age of transparancy... It is long over due...
Let the truth be known. We are all earthlings and have more in common than we realise..

This is a really hard question for me!

I am American, I live very comfortably. The worst of my problems is I am a little overweight.

Now, if I and others live comfortably in this country because of horrendous back-door backstabbing politicians that are pure evil and do horrible things out of the public view,,, then their is a dilemma.

Should I encourage Wikileak whistleblowers to give me the truth and make me feel less comfortable as an American?

Or should I give a wink and a nod to politicians and let them do their dirty work, as they have done all along to ensure me being comfortable.

It is really hard to pick.

But I am leaning toward going toward the wikileak team because being comfortable for too long gets really boring. And I could use a little exitement.

Drama if you will.

I guess I'm pro wikileaks.

I think Wikileaks is great. They are basically holding the government hostage.

You notice that it's mainly right-wingers who oppose the organization. Also, conspiracy theorists trying to make profit see Wikileaks as a threat, because Wikileaks actually exposes corruption, and doesn't invent it.

Here is a video that highlights this:

I think Wiki-leaks is important, but it's hard to classify Julian Assange's motives. did he do it for great justice, or publicity?

If you'll follow the link in my signature I have gone through a fair amount of logs from Iraq, and posted some events (some non-events also?) I am all for truth and transparency, but if it puts the lives of your countrymen at risk then that is a whole other thing. But I don't think Assange has citizenship in the U.S. so I don't know if that matters to him.

I DO think he is being trumped up with a smear campaign, but he also strikes me as a little weasely. There is nothing on Wikileaks website that I can find where you can donate or support the only american personel accused in the leaks, which leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

So if you want to support him go here Bradley Manning

especially since some are calling for his execution for crimes of treason

WL should give them a chance to come clean...
Say:

"Tell the world the truth yourself, or we will"

WIKILEAKS:
Is it ALL about war or is there anything else that they sit on?
I mean, why war, why not healthcare, science, space, technology,
economics, energy, fuels and so on and on...

They seem to have an agenda...A goal, a hidden purpose...

I seriously doubt its ONLY about the truth....
