To compliment its military building no doubt which Putin has increased spending on massively in recent years.
Times have changed so much since the Soviets had 12 such facilities worldwide.
So is there a hidden agenda here ?
After all-despite the reset buttons no one really trusts Russia in the West.

Martin,

I think this thread, and the idea of Russia seeks new naval bases abroad, especially in the international context of Russia/China relations, and possible western tensions, deserves a chance...

but you might want to post it outside the religious conspiracies forum???

Regards,
SJ

The West made a huge mistake taking a lot of resources off of Russian when the Soviet Union collapsed. Right now they're basically worse than the Soviet Union was in many ways but still have the same attitude and behaviour.

So you are saying that the west "bought" all of these from the former USSR/Russia? Funny, I always thought that the former USSR/Russia had sold much of these to non-western states, but I don't know much about the situation anyway.

I know that I have bought (on-line) technology items from Russia within the past five years because I could not find them in the west.

And are you saying the west, or Russia, is now almost the same as the former USSR?

I have no idea who's posts you've been reading but they certainly haven't been mine. I did not mention anything about Russia or the West having "bought" anything, nor did I imply that the West was the same as Russia.

Please clarify your statements and questions and I'll try to answer them.
