For a website that mostly was known for hosting mixtapes not albums this one was very odd. Mixtapes are made for free by artists, if you buy one you aren't paying for the music you are paying for the CD Cover Art.

And the DHS?
What does homeland security, I mean actual homeland security not the dept. of., have to do with mixtapes?

This is an odd one

You must not listen to many mixtapes, or know why they exist....

Mix tapes are a great way to circulate copyrighted material such as songs recorded over instrumentals or copyrighted samples of other popular music.... This is how we in the hiphop community, cn be free to express ourselves in much the same way Warhol did....

However, it is still illegal to sell or make a profit, from the standpoint of the artist, so they are often promotional material for actual "cleared" albums....

This however leads me to think that though an artist can make and distribute these mix tapes, and friends can share them , people who own the rights still have the ability to shut down electronic sites which share them digitally.

Though something else strikes me.... Look up the franchise boys.... They used to run mix tapes too and were busted, because well their network was so big it became used for moving drugs

So what does DHS have to do with ordinary (alleged) crime?

Nah, I'm sure that within the downloads there is encoded various terror related messages. You know, coordinates for future attacks, names, recipes, and the like.

This all started with the Invasion of the Beatles.
