Yeah, credit where credit is due the batting has been superb and it's not because we are bowling bad it's more along the lines of a sh!t load of bad luck
we should of had Hussey earlier though, but that bloody umpire.... and we had no reviews left
but it's not over yet!

Yeah I thought he was out too, but the umpire heard two points of contact meaning he assumed the bat had made contact. Thats the way it goes sometimes though, happens to everyone

I agree it isnt over, but we now have control on the match. And you just dropped Haddin, lol and now Hussey hits 150 off another misfield

Looking good for us

England doing a bit better in the second innings I see 156 for 0 of off 51
I'm fully expecting a complete collapse any minute though

Well collapse hasnt come

Our bowlers are pathetic. I think we may be looking at a draw for the first test

England have come back strongly and I can't see any other result other than a draw.

Some people here in England got a little caught up in all the hype and thought this was going to be an easy victory.
Australia will always play with passion and pride, especially against us.

For the last 20years or so Australia have always had that extra bit of class and have set new standards in Test cricket.
But this team seem rather workmanlike and whilst they look the part when things are going their way they appear to let their heads drop when things get tough, unlike the England team who are very resilient.

As said previously, Swann is a key player.
But I think the form of Pietersen could be the big difference.
He has the class and ability to change the game in a single session.

There isn't a great deal between the 2 sides and it will be a close series.
I predict an England series victory either 1-0 or 2-0.

Sheer class batting from Cook and Strauss to what i also think will now be a draw. Roll on the 2nd test!

That was a very poor game for Johnson yeah, no runs no wickets a dropped catch, what's he doing there is the first place?

It wasn't that long ago he was ranked number one bowler in the world.
What has happened to him?

Aussies certainly need a bit more class and depth in the bowling department if they are to bowl England out twice in a Test Match but I just don't see where they are going to find it.

Not the best start for Aus 3-3

Awesome start for us.
We got to keep the pressure on though.
They are tough little buggers these Aussies!

This should be an interesting innings for England.

Damn my lack of sky sports

England thrash Australia by an innings and 71
Well that's a bit of a turn up for the books. How are the Aussies reacting to this score?

Well, I must say that was all very easy.

We completely out bowled, out batted and out fielded Australia.

And the way they just seemed to roll over was very un-Australian.

I honestly can not see this Australia side bowling England out twice in a Test and as such will not win a single Test in the series.
Three Tests left and I confidently expect England to win one or two of them with the remainder being drawn.

Australia's recent form seem to point out that it seems unlikely that Australia will reclaim the ashes unless they can do something special. England are in form and will be hard to stop, however thinges do happen.

It's certainly been quiet in this thread considering the amount of Aussies that are on ATS.
Is cricket losing its popularity down under?

YEs it is actually!

The country is appalled by our current form. Hasnt been this bad for almost 30 years. We are getting so desperate that we have bought in a 26 year old spinner with no experience...hopefull he goes ok
