To all Amercans... Its OVER. period. This may be our last "Thanksgiving"... as the America we once knew and loved.....Americans enjoy your possibly last Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones... Not this thread is not doom and gloom...or war-mongering. Just the facts. IMHO I suspect that America will be divided soon in more ways than one.

FACTS BELOW

1) Possible war looming in North Korea and South Korea
2) Economy near collapse
3) TSA tittering on explosions of anger by US citizens
4) Banking/money collapse happening before your eyes... every minute in the news
5) Missle (China) accident in California coast
6) But wait there is more....Corporate greed, Loss of jobs, Global instability....

I can go on but you get the point by now. Its TIME to resolve and understand that our "old American life" is over, This is the "new normal" ITS OVER.. We must admit it... most of us spent lavishly, had credit cards and a lifestyle of that higher than most other countries... Now the time has come for Americans to see how other countries live with basic needs and a simpler lifestyle.

No matter if you agree with this thread or not there are great changes looming for America and the world.

I strongly suggest that everyone adopt a very frugal, simple lifestyle, learn to grow your own food/meat or know someone that can provide for your families needs. We DO NOT want to depend on FEMA for our survival, now do we?

no matter what happens....HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.... I do wish everyone well this season...

Just 2 years ago, I thought this time would never come.

Now with all thats happening, its hard to grasp, and I wish I could go back and prepare.

But I was a somewhat skeptic, skeptic of our own inevitable downfall.

I thought the same back in 2009...and 2008...and 2007...and...

The point is: Nothing will collapse until they are ready for it to collapse. The US economy could shatter tomorrow morning, and it could last another 30 years. We made the mistake of letting a small group of people obtain 99%+ of the wealth, so they have complete say in when it happens. All we can do is look at the signs and see if they point to a build up of an orchestrated collapse. The North and South Korea conflict has been going on for so long that a war can break out between the two and still not result in an economic collapse or WWIII. We have to wait and see.

Its always like this. Over the past century. WW1, WW2, the eminent nuclear war with russia, the only difference now is the internet and instant news. You do realize that us conspiracy gloom and doom end of the world people here on ATS compromise about .5% of the population. My point is that there is always a threat from something, there always will be. Its just magnified to us as thats what we do. Look over some threads on this site. Some of them are so crazy that the only thing you can do is laugh. twenty years from now there will be a new threat one the "LIKES OF HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN" and you will have forgotten about this period of uncertainty.

the only thing you forgot to mention was the alien invasion or the spiritual awakening of our species. if your going to mention all the current problems you have to include these, happy thanksgiving.................
what are you thankful for?

Agreed. However it does seem to be a LOT of weird things going on as of late. I'm very curious as to what the next year will bring.

Happy Thanksgiving...no, really.. Happy Thanksgiving.

What we face is nothing new...history is a wonderful thing. Don't be so glum or down hearted, friend. In fact, the US has faced many worse times then even now. These are the times that define good men and women and bring real leaders to the forefront...locally and nationaly.

How about an invading army that burns down Washington DC...War of 1812.

How about open conflict between citizens and border disputes...Missouri/Kansas 1858-1860.

Open rebellion and casualties numbering hundreds of thousands...Civil War 1861-65.

Deep Recession/Depression...1870,1900,1930,1970,...now.

How about muliple low level conflicts in multiple countries... the Banana Republic Wars of the 1920s.

How about suprise attacks and loss of US lives...and territories...1812, 1861, 1941-42, 2001.

Threat from terrible aggressors with intent of global domination....Japan and Germany...1941.

My point is, we have suffered far darker times than we do now and hear the stories from our grand parents and parents. These are times you will share with your grand kids one day.

Your suggestion to live frugally, self sufficient...hmm...ever watch the Walton's? What you suggest is what my folks grew up with, and even me to some degree. My folks grew up when America was great....they went to bed hungry sometimes... both my grand daddies farmed, worked saw mill in winter, made moonshine to get by. they hunted and fished to have enough to eat. They slept 2-3 to a bed, cooked on a wood stove, killed hogs in winter, bought shoes and clothes once a year after the crops were in, and didn't throw nothing away.

Welcome to the good old days...question is, do we have enough intestinal fortitude to be as great as they were?

That sucks, Thanksgiving is my favorite one. Will halloween be back next year though? I'll bet you a cranberry turkey sandwich that I'll be in another turkey coma next year, even if we collapse as a society.

If you don't have any turkey next year, you can swing by my house, hut or whatever I will be living in then. If I can't buy a turkey, I will either kill a wild one or swipe one so that we can treat you to a turkey coma.

Cranberries don't grow locally for me, so you will have to suffer through that or travel north.

OP sounds to me like you are already full of Thanksgiving turkey.

You have the audacity to tell others what we must admit?
I think not.

Americans have been through much worse than these times we are in now and we survived.
We will survive again.

You or nobody else can ever take Thanksgiving out of our hearts.

And ... you are preaching to the choir concerning becoming self sufficient.

Go do a search and count the times ATS members have discussed growing our own food.

It is because of ATS that in the last three years I have become proficient in gardening and canning my food.
I now have goats,

We have turkeys, ducks and chickens and we have a new bull almost old enough to mate with our cow.

My winter garden is beautiful and I plant every month in the year except January.

How dare you put a wet blanket on anyone's Thanksgiving day,

Hope you enjoy your Turkey.

Oh my lord.......I just don't have the words for this topic.

No Thanksgiving???? Really.....are you kidding me? That' the best you got?

Rants, Rants, and more Rants.

Repent, the end near !!!!

Can I wear my carboard cut out now and stand on street corners telling folks to repent?

Our country is wounderful...if you don't believe me go to Ireland or England, or Tiwain, Rep of Chech, etc..
Public restrooms, public trash cans, public libraries, wide good quality roads to drive on, police system, good selection of foods, clothing, nice houses. Plastic throw away shopping bags... Americans are spolied rotton. Health care is plentiful and available. Great technology. Thank god, Thanksgiving!
P.S.) When you finish comming back through the security you will feel like getting on the ground and kissing the USA soil. We have our problems, we are a work in progress.

That's how its always been, nothing ever changes and I don't have a reason to believe anything ever will.

Very good post and I suspect, sadly you are right.

Example: Last year we didn't have the scanners and TSA gropers..........this year we do.

Tyranny comes in little tiny stages, little by little, step by step and TPTB, the puppet masters use fear mongering to make the people fall in line and hand over their freedom.

Then, when it comes to the final stage, like trapping an animal, the spring is sprung and the animal is hopelessly caught.

Well, enough of us did not wake up in time, enough of us did not rebel, protest with our wallets, e-mails and votes and enough of us did not unite and demand all the little "rules" coming along in time.

The scanners and groping are very frightening because they are not slight or hidden signs, they are in your face signals that the end of the America we once knew, no longer exists.

And, there will be no place to run and hide, this will be on a global scale.

Bush Senior talked about his New World Order, he was quite open about it.

Most people do not like to dwell on unpleasant things so they go about with blinders on thinking that things can't get worse.

Well, history is repeating itself.

I do remember, when I was a small child talking to a man that had numbers tattooed on his arm. I asked him innocently about his tatoo and he told me about being in a camp in Poland for two years. He said it was like living in hell, a nightmare.

For people that do not heed the warnings of history - they are doomed to repeat it.

Freedom comes with a heavy price tag and that price tag is vigilance and the guts to rebel against tyranny.

My folks grew up when America was great....

Ahhh ... country roads take me home , to the place where I belong ...

I am old enough to remember those days too my friend . Gettin up at the crack of dawn to go fetch some kindlin for the wood stove , boiling water to take a bath , no inside toilet , three , sometimes four of us to a bed , homemade biscuits and red-eye gravy for breakfast , brown beans rice and sometimes fried taters for supper , growing most of our own food , butchering the hogs , getting new shoes and clothes about once a year , if we were lucky , the old man runnin white-lightnin across the state line just to bring in a few extra dollars .

Depending on no one but ourselves and each other , to get by .

Today , Americans take so much for granted . Even most of the poor-folks today have more than we did back then .

Doom and gloom ? Nah ... maybe for some but , I like to hope that there are still enough of those like you and I , that have been through those times , to remind todays generation that there are times you may have to just take charge and make things happen instead of being dependant on someone else and taking things for granted .

Aint it funny how we refer to those as the 'good-ol-days' ?

Indeed , Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you , wherever you are .

this is NOT DOOM And GLOOM??? Really? I'll tell you what, you are taking snapshots of certain things that happen, not what is going on all around us. There will be changes to life in the USA, but that's because there ALWAYS is changes. 2010, is no the same as 2000, 1990, 1980 ect. As far as the major changes people keep talking about on this site. I look at it this way, they are either unhappy about their current life, unhappy about OTHERS being happy, looking to get a reaction, ignorant or just plain crazy.

There is no facts, no historical data that there are going to be these sweeping changes. That aliens are coming, or major natural disasters, or whatever people talk about on this site.
