Adam Savage of Myth Busters goes through new TSA security with two – twelve inch long razor blades

Well this ought to completely deflate any argument that TSA has that its scanners are effective.... lol

Adam Savage, from the Myth Busters TV show, flies a lot and has dangerous items on his person for his job. He tries to make sure he leaves all that at home. But after the TSA finished shooting Adam Savage with radiation and looking at his “tiny junk”, Adam noticed he had forgotten two 12 inch long razor blades in his suit jacket. He noticed the razor blades in his pocket once he was ON THE PLANE.

That is awesome,funny ,and scary all at the same time. They seem to be so focused on checking for stuff that would be hidden instead of looking in a jacket pocket. I thought they had metal detectors and stuff of that nature for a reason.

I think he meant that they were in his laptop bag - he pulled them out of his jacket during the show. Still, this plus there are some new headphone earplugs resembling bullets that made it through the scanner without any issue as well. I think it all goes to show that surrendering your rights and accepting a gradual slide in to a police state will not make you any safer.

Metal detectors FTW

I haven't flown since the porn scanners have been in effect, but my assumption was you would still go through the metal detectors and then through the scanners. This is just stupid. Now I can take all sorts of metal objects through with me if they happen to look non-offensive?

you go thru the metal detector. if you beep, you are asked to pose for your money shot. this is the time when you can opt for the additional happy ending.

one thing I'd like to point out here is that Savage is performing, giving a lecture. The best way to start off a speech before a large audience? A joke. It is very possible that the whole blades thing was a joke.

Not saying he made it up.

just saying it's possible.

Thanks for the explanation. Adding a new layer of security while removing the first didn't make a bit of sense to me. I'll second the emotion saying that they must have been in the laptop bag and not his coat.
