Do some research on the "Kawasaki" virus, as many of the people who've had this, have had similar issues. Then, try and find some specialists that may
be more familiar with it, as the average doc may not be. Note: I am not a Dr., and my advice is offered gratis, and only in the hope of providing
possibilities.
Also, I'll move the thread to Health, as you may get some additional advice there.
Note also, it isn't a symptom of Kawasaki, but for some reason, people who get over it, seem to develop the symptoms you mentioned soon afterwards...
Most docs seem to agree that issues with the flaking skin and falling off nails are indicative of other viral issues, and that resolving the base
cause will then remedy the secondary effect of the nails. In any case, it seems to be mostly something that affects children, so something that will
be outgrown.
Other possibilities include Hand, Foot and Mouth disease, or even Mercury poisoning, as both of these have also been linked to the symptoms you
described.
