The CDC in Atlanta holds some germs and virus's that could wipe all human kind and animals from the face of this planet. It is a potential target for terrorists, I'm sure...as most storage facilities of it's kind.

So I am asking, in the event of complete and dire emergency, when all sources, both military and governmental are being aimed at the "emergency"...what happens if somehow the CDC is no longer guarded as it always has been to make sure the "specimens" it holds can not escape into the open air.

I realize that it can be locked down and the "specimen" storage is supposed to keep the nasties inside the facility....but then the best laid plans...you know the rest. All it takes is just ONE of their "bugs" to see daylight.

Comments?

Explanation S&F!

Most, if not all, of the biohazardous material also exists out in the wild, possibly except for a few of the potential nasties etc that had there day in the sun and are now 'harmless' to the wider immunized population!

So yes... good idea to ensure security and protocl take place at the CDC regardless of worldwide goings on etc!

But that does not garantee that some unconscionable scumbag or even mother nature herself doesnt "screw" with us collectively or individually from home or abroad!

OL did biology in high school science ... its very easy to grow biological cultures if one knows how to!

Personal Disclosure: Its also very easy to become infected if one doesn't know fully what they are doing!

What you say is true. Would mankind even think, though, about this end
of the spectrum? Would they be too wrapped up in personal survival
to realize that all would be for naught should one of the nasties escape
or someone with more nefarious intentions may be trying to completely undo
anything that was left?

Thanks, btw for the reply, star and flag.
