comparison between christ times and present

hey,
is it fair to compare chist times with our times?

i ask this because around christ's time there were hundreds of new sects/ideals/religions just starting (some are no longer with us), but nowadays we have a new breed of 'new-age' ideals to go along with lots of religions and lots of philosiphies

I think it depends upon the context of what you are compairing.

The United States is sort of like Rome, they haven't taken over the known world, but they do influence much of it with their culture.

Science has a central role in today's world, much more so than it did 2000 years ago.

It really depends on exactly what comparison you want to make, if you want to compaire.

Remember, 2000 years ago, Christianity was just another cult too.
