STOCKHOLM – Swedish prosecutors say they will seek an international arrest warrant for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in a rape investigation.
The announcement came after a Stockholm court approved their request to detain Assange for questioning in the case, which stems from his encounters
with two Swedish women in August.
Assange is suspected of rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion. He has denied the allegations.
Director of Public Prosecution Marianne Ny told the AP on Thursday that she will seek Assange's arrest through Interpol. His whereabouts were not
immediately clear.

STOCKHOLM (AP) — A Swedish court has approved a request by prosecutors to detain WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for questioning on suspicion of
rape, sexual molestation and unlawful coercion.
Assange has denied the accusations, which stem from his encounters with two women during a visit to Sweden in August.
Thursday's decision by the Stockholm District Court may lead to an international arrest warrant for Assange.
Director of Public Prosecution Marianne Ny said she made the request because "so far, we have not been able to meet with him to accomplish the
interrogation."
