Actually, it's likely that the entire date is several decades out.

a quote of a friend of mine who is a professional astrologer is "what planetary alignment on Dec 21 2012?".

There's no such alignment occurring. It's a myth perpetuated by MSM and conspiracy theorists.

My whole theory about the Mayan calendar and why it ends is this - if they know it repeats every 25,000 years, WHY BUILD TWO? Why not just use the same one over? We have 12 hour watches because we know this cycle repeats.
