but hey, I think it could work, really! If you have the space, why not?
Don't know what area you are in, but adding a barn or shed out back in your own yard, is just the same as adding a car garage. If you get paid by said
campers you could simply accept cash, because first of all I dont think it wise accepting personal checks from those in that type of crisis. One
medium small barn with two bunkbeds put inner can fit four people (four stangers or a family of four. These should be 18 and older). Throw out some
yard furnichure. Add one shed to put a portable tolet in and an outdoor showerhead in, and it's a camper's dream, especially if you throw in window
A/C unit into a barn window (and for winter a space heater). They are making at least around $20,000, so they aren't total bums. This means you can
make good money because they'll be paying way under what staying in a motel would run them for a week. Could charge between $200-$300 (with electric
and other things included) a week, which is less than a motel stay for a week. Provide them with a walkie talkie so you and them can communicate from
time to time. They'd know to get a no contract cell phones from Radio Shack and phone cards rather than bother the home owner about using their phone.
However, if the home owner wont get a barn/shed to offer a more luxuious camping ground, they can still let their guests (under a number) pitch a
couple tents in their backyard. You can boot up price if you will allow them to use your address temporarily for business (includes employment
purposes) which makes them money which in turn makes you money. If they have a car, you can even charge them an extra one-time fee to keep parking out
in front somewhere. $200 TIMES 52 weeks can make a home owner an extra $10,400 a year, and make 'em feel good about aiding someone who needed a place
to stay.
SO, people, aid those out of a home if you can.
