I snapped this pic while playing with my daughter at the park. There were several of them circling. I thought it was a cool pic and thought I would share.

No conspiracy here.

Well.

I do believe that is a stealth bomber.

Looks like you caught it banking in the middle of a turn.

Several of them circling...hmmmm....

Are they prepping for another missile attack?

Nice catch

Do you see lots of airforce training there? Must be cool.. as here in Toronto it's only in the summer where for about a week I have cf-18's flying in formation above my place, alllll day.
(Loud as hell but really cool to watch)

It also gives you an idea of what it might sound like moments before death if you were the enemy

Decent photo. It appears as a F-117A stealth fighter to me. It doesn't have that bat-wing look of a B-2 stealth bomber. but I understand, they have a bunch of those things around. If there were several of them, they must be operational in outfits and not prototypes. The F-117As are/were based in New Mexico originally, Frankly, I don't think there are too many of them as they were basically cover make-work projects while the black triangles were being built and tested.

No doubt some will howl at that, but I've seen a black triangle low, slow and silent in 1998. They exist.

It looks clearly like a B2 to me, dude. What kind of formation was it in?

I live about 20 minutes from a base, but there are not stealth bombers there. This is in Bucks County, PA.

They were in a V formation then one would break formation and the others would circle around and they would form another V.

I never see training around here.

that's a cool pic i wonder why they were so far from there home port. I believe all stealth fighters are still stationed at one base and its on the other side of the country i had the pleasure of throwing tennis balls at one once in a failed attempt to get it to bounce back to me there very cool planes.

Nice pic.

It looks surprisingly like the object with a shadow that Zorgon posted, which is said to be on the moon. I tried finding the page but got exhausted (those threads are huge!).

I really expected someone to say that and be serious.

Interesting. But any chance it was just an RC plane? You said there were several of these flying around? Perhaps just a club of fliers also enjoying the park? Or are we talking high altitude and audible jet propulsion (though I guess being stealth that might be a minimum)...

I would be thrilled to see these fly over.

RC planes in V formation? They would be pretty skilled fliers.

Most operational B-2s are based out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri (Warrensburg and Sedalia are the two larger towns that lay in the flight path). Take 50 West from Sedalia and they will often fly right over the highway on final approach. A bit of a security concern in my estimation - but I'm not sure what all kinds of measures are taken to sweep and secure that general ground space (IE - would someone show up to keep an eye on you if you 'camped' along the approach).

Most are operated by the 509th Wing out of Whiteman. The Missouri National Guard operates one out of the 131st Wing (also out of Whiteman). The 412th Test Wing is the only one that operates out of a base other than Whiteman - they operate out of Edwards with one B-2.

They keep them rotating about through the Nation, though. It's not unlike how they keep B-52s and B-1s in circulation, spread out to minimize damage in the event of an attack/sabotage. It would really suck to have 20 of 21 B-2s compromised because of a successful attack on Whiteman (only thing worse than having them destroyed would be having them captured).

Kind of cool to sit outside the Commissary on the base, there, and watch the various aircraft (including the B-2s) land. It's not nearly as good of a view as being out along the flight line - but the only time you get to do that is at airshows. Even the all-powerful military ID has its limits of access. Nothing beats a good serving of fast food and soda to watch planes land to.

Yeah, I grew up watching Top Gun. Interestingly enough, quite a few people say I bear resemblance to Tom Cruise.... because of this, I often subject myself to closet jokes so everyone else can get a good laugh. It will expedite my fate to spiral into madness and join the church of scientology.
