Really? Is Cholera the best we can do for a major epidemic around the world??? Really?

Cholera is serious but most cases are treatable and in industrialized countries is almost unheard at least on a scale that large because its basically spread by lack of access to clean drinking water/food and bad hygiene practices....

Well here it is.

The British couple held captive by Somali pirates have been released. today (last night) certainly this is an emotional "release"
as for the tipping point, well they were released becuase ransom of $750,000 was paid. Now the Somalis know that people will pay in the end, and so this will just embolded them.

Surely now this will cause more activity in the straights of Hormuz, (the bit between Somalia and Yemen, and will surely disrupt traffic through the Suez.

Hadrian I have nothing against what you posted I just wanted to add a comment and clicked on your post to respond to, but what I am going to say is not against you.

I think that they are on to something with the webbots. As with any form of future predictions sometimes they are right and sometimes they are wrong. As far as their accuracy they have only claimed to be twice better than chance, which means they aren't always going to be right. But I think the reason so many people are interested in the webbots, or ATS anything like this is that people like you and me know there is something going on. the world might not come unglued today or in 63 days or whatever, but the trends are heading that way. Our financial system is bound to collapse. There is more debt in the world than there is money, so obviously the debt isn't getting paid off so the holders of that debt are going to go bankrupt. And who are the holders of that debt? In the process of the big right off who do you think we are going to piss off. And what do you think they are going to do about it? I don't claim to know, but i seriously doubt that they are going to do nothing. So in regards to the webbots I do think that they pick up on where the current situation is possibly heading, but I find that Clif and George have a tendency to take it to the most absolute highest possible level.

As far as what is going on that we should be worried about. The last week was the worst week in the stock market in the last 3 months. money.cnn.com... Also our bonds are going down the toilet. Once they are completely useless your guess is as good as mine as to what China is going to do. www.cnbc.com... The price of gold is up, the dollar is down, and that trend is going to continue probably until our dollar, and financial system, is completely useless. And one more thing, with Ron Paul turning the heat up on the Federal Reserve how long do you think that they are going to take the heat before they do something, and your guess is as good as mine as to what, to take the heat off of them and give us, US, something bigger to worry about. You are forgetting a few details:

Haiti is in a state of ruin right now
The UN mission there after the earthquake is politely described as "faltering" - in my language I would call that a cluster****
Over 100,000 Haitians are living in tent cities with little access to clean water and potentially unsanitary conditions

Perfect conditions to turn an outbreak of Cholera into an epidemic.

Actually, there is a cholera outbreak there but not as many people were infected. Who said that outbreak, means a large number of people will be infected?
