Hi ATS.

I'm not going to tell you what you should or should not do in life. Although I favor you to be mindful of the future,
and make the effort to avoid unnecessary waste.

First... The most important thing everybody should understand is that change starts with you.

Okay ?

Like I said, I'm not gonna tell you what to do, but I'd like to suggest not to do something in order to make an end to our unsustainable way of life. Well... I'm not, but the women in the following 7:47 minute video will.

Please take what she says very seriously as it is happening all around us. I'd like to ask from you, do not neglect this issue. I'm aware tht your effort will not make a difference at all, but multiply it with a million or even a billion times, and our world would actually be a better place.

Planned obsolescence

This is what they do. Why should we allow it.... ? Take part of it... ?

A lot of us have or will have children in the future. We want them to have a good future right ? One to look forward to.

Please share your thoughts and experiences, and if there is something you do or will do, to make a difference, all be it small one.

Sincerely...

~ Sinter

I remember seeing one of their videos from over a year ago.
High production value, entertaining, even reaches kids.

This new one is well done, and like the others
seems to be designed to raise awareness.

I especially like that the message gets across without blame or defense in it.

Is it an annual project or something ? I never heard about it before.

www.storyofstuff.org...

They have a number of videos up at their site.
All high production value, and very
similar in tone, but focusing
on different specifics.

So as not to seem like I'm endorsing their message,
allow me to criticize them a bit.

I find the timing of these videos very suspicious.
Back in the 70's when information of this kind
could have been usefull, there was zero
funding to be found. Now that industry
has us where they want us, they
are trying to figure out how to
migrate us from buy-to-own
to a subscription model.

These videos seem
to be subtley geared to
suggest that paying a monthly fee
for something we don't replace will be good.

Hence the reason I keep pointing out the high production quality.
