Hey ATS...

I'm in Connecticut, so I'm aiming this post at fellow residents of the Nutmeg State.

Room mate returned home from work just now, and informed me of an awesome sighting of a pair of Apaches over Route 2 - coming from Glastonbury CT towards East Hartford.
He said they were incredibly low - he could see plenty of detail on them (bolts, goodies, etc). He said that they didn't just fly straight over the highway/road...they kinda stopped, made a few stationary turns, and went on their way.

Haven't found anything in the local news... anyone else form the CT area that happened to see these, or know what they were doing?

Are you sure it was a AH-64 Apache?

This is an Attack Helicopter for the US Army and wouldn't be used for any other purpose other than Training for the US Army National Guard or Reserve.

Although Camp Rell/Camp Niantic and is a US Army Reserve Regional Training Facility (ADRS) that just so happens to be very close to where you are, the nearest AH-64 Apaches deployed in the United States would be the US Army National Guard Aviation Training Site (AATS) out of Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.

With a 350 mile range, those AH-64s would be very far from home indeed and ready for a refuel.

Yeah, he's dead set that it was a pair of Apache's (AH-64's) ... described the chin gun/turret, landing gear setup, tandem pilots and such.
I'll have to dig around and see if I can find anything... It's just bizzare that they would fly so low, and such.

I was in Wethersfield at that time......didn't see or hear anything as I was indoors. I have however on numerous occasions seen two large olive drab military cargo planes flying low following the Rt.11/ Rt.2 trajectory in the past.

Okay.....did see one this morning on the Stonington River about 10:00 this A.M. I was in Pawcatuck at the time and she came in low and did two large circles....about a 1/4 mile circumference.....was more than likely sight-seeing as the area it circled around is nothing short on beautiful. It did have ordinances on it(or mock ones)as well.
