Maybe if the world would ignore Bush, he would fade away.

Bush is back in the news trying to salvage his legacy.

news.yahoo.com...

The Bush administration gave us names like Chertoff, Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Gonzales. Then there are the other names, waterboarding, indefinite detention, patriot act, war on terrorism, blackwater.

What a legacy. How can you salvage such a tragedy? Keep the lie alive! How can you kill the lie? Stop listening to the liars that tell them and the liars that empower them.

PLEASE Bush, just fade away, and maybe we can salvage the U.S.A. We have Obama to contend with, and you certainly aren't helping us with that are you? But, why would you? He is on your side.

To ignore would be to forget.

Bush's presidency is a perfect example why to -never- vote in the "common man" to run the country.

Should anyone make an argument in the future of how some potential is a common man anyone could have a beer with and reminds them of some friend...ya...point back at this disaster.

bush bit the bullet for what every politician who wants to maintain and hold power wanted to do but didn't.

that's why he's probably a behind closed door hero for every elitist.

publicly every politician condemns him but do absolutely nothing to change his policies, including obama, even though it would be very easy to do so.

Now that he can't destroy us and turn the rest of the world against us, I find the man to be really amusing. He's still dumb as s##t with a enormous ego, but that is part of his jerk-off charm. And making the bright side a little brighter-- now we he talks he doesn't embarrass the entire country, he only embarrasses himself.

Exactly.
Although this thread is really not about Obama, he has proven he is cut from the same elitist cloth.
The words Bush spoke were all lies, unless you asked him how he felt about all of his crimes, then, he is awfully proud.

I don't think he is all that dumb. He is a master manipulator.
He has most of the "left" it seems convinced he is the dumbest buffoon to ever occupy the white house, but he really isn't dumb. Just morally challenged and totally unAmerican, unless you define American as one big war and domestic spy industry.
I don't think he really has a "people"...not in the sense that YOU and I are people.

bush was the man!!!

obama and clinton wish they were half the man he is and don't care if you people flame me look at your heros:

clinton, mao, che and so on bush was a great president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don't care if you hate on the man but if you people look back in the long line of presidents he was no worse than any other one.

the reason you people hate bush is because you people were manipulated and you let yourselves be manipulated so that the left could get into power in 2006 and 2008 once you see how the game is played in washington dc it's all about politics and nothing about issues, it's all about power and you give them the power.

when and if you ever sit in that oval office and truly fathom what the responsibility means then you will have a diferrent take on things in this country but if you just want to continue to hate because you were manipulated and just plain want to then feel free.

i don't hate in the grand scheme of things what has your 10 years of hatred and vitriol accomplished? absolutley nothing but if it helps you sleep at night then so be it.

We tried to ignore Bush and concentrate on fixing the mess of a country he left us in, but we fell right into their trap and voted for the wrong people again which made matters worse. And guess what? Here Bush is again trying to fix his image and get back into the public spot light, well we should let him have it!

We shouldn't never ignore or forget what he did to us. I think we should all learn more about everything he and his administration did illegally and demand that they are prosecuted to the full extent of the law to tarnish their reputations, asterisk their legacies, and ruin their lives just as they did to ours.

...forget gwb (spit) and his scummy buddies and buddettes (spit, spit, spit, spit, spit, spit!)?... hell, no... they were willing puppets... letting them fade away insinuates immunity... at the very least, they should be demonized for eternity (like hitler) and, maybe, just maybe, politicians will stop being willing puppets for the mucky mucks...

Ah, I didn't think any "Bush-wackers" would peep out for at least a couple of weeks after the (heh) shelacking of last week. The truth is, Bush and Obama are two sides or extremism, neither of which is good. Bush was NOT a common man, he was an oil good-ole-boy and please note, a WAR TIME president. Those are never popular. The set up for this brave new world economy that we are living in now was maintained by Bush Jr., pushed forward by Clinton, inched forward by Bush Sr. helped by Regan, and so forth on down the line until we reach the 1800s and the industrial revolution. The economy was not planned correctly back then. We paid for it in the thirties and we are paying again now. Until we FIX IT we will continue the vicious cycle of growth, decline, sharp growth, sharp decline. True some measures were put into place after the great depression that kept the economy from imploding for a while but it was just a bandage on a huge festering wound. The biggest tear in the bandaid that I can think of was letting Fanny and Freddie do what-ever they wanted in the Clinton administration. Up till now.

When normal people realize they are living beyond their means, they CUT THE HECK BACK ON SPENDING. And if anyone thinks monitizing is a grand idea... go visit Mexico... and they've had years and years to recover. Try Greece. I hear the riot fires are lovely this time of year.

The truth is this is a VERY old problem and is truly no ones fault. Much like our decaying road system, how were they to know that traffic volume would increase around fifty-fold when the roads were first built? How were they to know that we wouldn't keep up a good system of maintaining and re-building the roads? We have grown too big for our current economy plan. Time for a change. I only hope that the mid-terms sent a message loud and clear. If the in-coming congressmen don't do what we sent them to do... out with the old and in with the new.

The media, and people in general, are participating in what is called "selective ignoring" of Bush. Anything good about the man is to be ignored, and everything bad about the man is to be inflated a thousand fold.

I had the privilege to see him as a seating President - he's not the most eloquent speaker in the world. Many would say I write very well - but I am no better at public speaking than he is. He's a deep thinker - not a shallow-oh, look, pie!

I have disagreed with some of his policies. I have agreed with others. I do not envy the position the man was placed in - he wasn't in office for a year and he had a national emergency on his hands that was a deliberate attack from foreign nations (I realize some of you would debate against that - you're entitled to your opinion, but it's wrong). Does anyone seriously think they could have done any better ten years ago? We can all sit around as expert Monday Morning Quarterbacks - but when you're in the game and on the field, it's a different story.

I am sure people will continue to blame Bush for problems well into the next millennium, so I doubt the man will ever be looked at in a fair manner. You can dress anyone up like a demon, if you want to see them as a demon.

Exactly what the founding fathers would say!

During the election, folks would praise him as a guy they'd have a beer with. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't want my President to be that kind of guy. He actually brought me onto this board because I automatically assumed that there must be a HUGE consipiracy if he can be elected.

Bush is back in the news trying to salvage his legacy.

I've been saying the same thing about Carter since G. H. W. Bush (#41) was in office. Carter is a man who simply WON'T go away politically. He constantly feels the need to mettle in politics of sitting presidents.

Bush wrote a book. Nothing new for a former President. Bush is just coming clean after a bit of time spent searching his old soul and he is smartly refraining from tossing the barbs at Obama because he didn't like it when Carter did it to him.

All presidents are guided by forces that are far to great for any of us to understand. That's why the similarities are so astounding from Pres. to Pres. regardless of political viewpoint. Hence the old "new boss same as the old boss" bit. We may all think that we know what's going from the perspective of our computer keyboards but we aren't even close to the reality that lies behind these presidents. They all deal with the political afterlife differently. 41 and 43 are markedly different from Clinton and Carter in that they have bowed out of the political limelight for the most part and Reagan was the same way. Conversely, Clinton and Carter are still entrenched in the political mire.

Yes, I think he was a horrible president... But I have a question for you. What does it matter if he fades away or not anymore?

He has no power anymore... He is not the President. He is asked his opinion from time to time, but it is nothing more than his opinion.

Really, does it even matter if he fades away or not? No, because he can't do anything anymore... If you wish for him to fade away, just quit listening to him when he is asked for his opinion, because, at this point, that is the worst he can do, share his opinion.

Neo96, we agree on a lot, but not this.

Bush is just another in a long line of dictatorial presidents. He did nothing for the common man, but he did enrich his elitist friends while taking away more of our freedoms. H*ll, everybody is afraid of these fictitious terrorists that he and his cronies invented so they could profit from the CURE.
None of these guys are MY president, and frankly unless you are part of the entitled class, not YOURS either.
None will face any prosecution, and they are taking us down the road to serfdom. Since he is above the law, I would like nothing better than to never see his face or hear his voice again.

For all the crimes that people commit the name 'Bush' to. Why would you want that person to fade away? As the poster afterwards stated, to let fade away is to forget and to forget gives rise to a chance of repeat. Thus we would get a repeat of his term later in our lives. People would complain once again and some historian or another person who did remember would look back to 'Bush's' term. That person would probably be ridiculed, but in their mindset and those who remember they would be in the right. So best to listen and learn from what 'Bush' did and not forget but learn and differentiate.
