So today we had two M-class solar flares:

www.swpc.noaa.gov...

There is a 70% chance for more M-class Flares.

There is also a 5% chance for an X-Class Flare. (This is the kind that can knock out power grids!)

Event Probabilities 06 Nov-08 Nov
Class M 70/70/70
Class X 05/05/05
Proton 01/01/01

Do you think that a solar storm could be the "Tipping Point"?

Yes I have been watching this as well.
However, it is not earth facing yet so we still haven't anything to be concerned of

Could you please elaborate more on what you mean by the "Tipping Point"

The "Tipping Point" as described by Clif High, the force behind the Web Bots:

www.halfpasthuman.com...

"Repeat. The 'break' in the tension values that indicates the tipping point after which we (the planet of humans) is into emotional release language starts on November 14th at 6:50AM Pacific Coast Time (UTC=+ 8). Repeat - Tipping point starts on 11-14-2010."

No worries,

Thanks for the link.
I wanted to know more on what you think the tipping point is.
Do you believe this is real and are the zombies coming.

I stand confused. The tipping point predicted to be on November the 14th. These are probabilities for 6-8. Are you saying that this could cause a nation-wide/international grid failure, and that will lead to the tipping point?

Could you dig up the probabilities for that time period, by the way? Say, November 13th-14th?

"ACTIVE SUNSPOT: Old sunspot 1112 is back and it is crackling with C- and M-class solar flares: SDO movie. So far none of the blasts has been geo-effective because of the sunspot's location on the sun's eastern limb. Solar rotation is, however, turning the active region toward Earth, so stay tuned."

Spaceweather.com

Possible percentage of M Flares - 70%

Ham radio transmission are sketchy here, it was fine last night and today I can't transmit anything but local.

NOAA only puts out predictions for the next 72 hours.

There is an active sunspot which may produce stronger flares in the coming days.

I'm not sure if it's real (Webbots) but I do believe in solar storms.

I also don't think the zombies are coming.

That's funny, I think they are ignoring you. You posted about this back on November 2nd. Must be all about the headline for the post; I have ran in to this before myself, people changing the headline and claiming it as their own.

Well can't get much of anyplace today but usually have no problem with Mexico, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Europe most of the time. The beacon station is transmitting the US, its coming in pretty good today. Some atmoshperic conditions cause propogation which actually helps transmit further locations. Yea, its fun!

M-5 is signficant - hoping we don't get an X but this activity is just now beginning to face earth - is it not? Haven't looked at the images yet today.
