What do I want to change again?
Are my views similar, in any way, to redneck, bug-out, idiot America?
Here's the problem. I have no interest in Christian Theocracy. I have no love for the Military industrial complex. I have no love for corporate
oligarchy, nor do I believe that lowering taxes, in and of itself, will create magic wealth that trickles down. I don't believe our schools do a very
good job of educating our children, and I don't believe that most parents are any better.
Whose side should I be on when we march on Washington?
The so called "patriot movement" seems to think they are fighting for the constitution, but I have yet to see or hear a "Jefferson" among them. I
am not afraid of the gays. Hell -- I love it when guys take themselves out of the competition for the hot girls. Power to the people, and all that
nonsense. I am not interested in being lectured on family values by a hypocritical moron who believes in magic sky ponies from outer space. I don't
watch a lot of TV. I don't care for tatoo'ed millionaires or their sports contracts.
What am I standing my ground and fighting for again?
This isn't an attack on you man. I am sure your heart is in the right place. Had you delivered this speech in person, I am sure John Wayne would be
proud, but on the internet, it isn't very persuasive.
The problem with standing and fighting is that a good 30% of us (the magic independents) don't like either side enough to want to get into bed with
them. That's why we are independents. We believe that far right kooks are just as onerous as far left kooks. The problem with the whole idea of
culture war and revolution is binary thinking. Frankly, its an endless surge of two losing options.
There were never any "good old days" worth recapturing. Our prosperity after ww2 was largely due to the inability of the rest of the world to
compete on an industrial basis due to war losses. Up until recently, blacks couldn't vote, women were encouraged to stay barefoot and pregnant and
STFU, and gays were beaten to death by mobs of macho pick up truck driving morons with slogans on their tee-shirts and stylish imported jackboots.
Hell -- the last one is still happening today.
What is your platform? How do you feel about people who are different then you are? What place does science and philosophy have in your life and how
does it inform your thinking? What should be done with people who disagree with you? How would your movement return America to prosperity, create real
jobs, and address wage inequality between the CEO's and those at the bottom of the corporate totem poll? What would you replace the credit and
banking system with? What role, if any, do you believe the US should play in world affairs and nation building? Are you prepared to deal rationally
and democratically with other Americans who don't agree with your views on important issues?
