A 10-year-old boy miraculously survived a fall from the 20th floor of an apartment building in southwest China's Guizhou Province Monday and suffered only slight injuries after landing on a car roof, police and doctors said Tuesday

His head landed on a pillow in the backseat and saved him! Now that is luck!

That's awesome!

Check out Vesna Vulovic, she fell 33,000 ft and survived. A bit more messed up than the chinese boy but after surgery she was good to go.

Vesna's entry in Wiki ;

en.wikipedia.org...

I remember another story of a guy who fell 10,000 ft and his fall was slowed down by various trees and he survived uninjured, can't remember his name though.

Now, despite what factors might contribute to the story that one could define as "scientific", i.e., rate of fall, number of obstacles that may have slowed the rate of descent, etc., one thing's for sure. . .THIS KID IS DESTINED FOR SOMETHING!!!

Slight apology for the caps, but, you know? The kid just survived a ten story fall into a car!

Yeah I remember that! My grandmother showed me a clipping a long time ago(at least I think its the same one). I remember on tv seeing a girl who's parachute didnt work properly and she fell full force and broke some of her bones. They found out she was like 2 months pregnant and she didnt even know. Her and the baby were fine. Crazy stuff! I wonder if its the way you land...

Put yourself in this scenario:

"Oh My God, my kid just died from falling off our 20 story balcony"

A 5 Minute elevator ride of hell.

Only to find your self saying in the end,

"Your sure your all right?"

Crazy crazy world. But I love it. Thank god the kid is alright.

I think if you hit a tree each branch breaks your fall enough to bring your velocity down and makes for a much easier landing. If you don't hit a tree or similar who knows how you survive?

That is amazingly awesome. I wish I was that lucky. Well not the falling 20 stories part, but man, that kid must have a purpose in life.

Why does falling 20 stories and surviving mean you have a purpose in life?

Plenty of people have escaped all sorts of amazing scenarios are they all 'Chosen' to enact some special purpose?

Drop 100 or 1000 people from a great height and statistically some are going to live , luck may play a part, but luck is just statistics really.

Look at Vesna Vulovic, she survived 33,000 ft and went on to be a normal person, has not solved one case of cancer yet, nor has she done anything that would indicate purpose apart from being a human being.

If it takes surving something like that to have a purpose, then I hope I remain without purpose, floating down the stream rudderless.
