So, I have been playing around in PS, and have found that the more familiar with it that I get, the more fun i have playing with it.

So I thought I would make a thread with some avatars. There are dozens just like it made by other members. I will just be another drop in the sea.

I am not as talented as many on ATS...but as i get more familiar i get better.

Here is one i put together last night/this morning (and what gave me the idea, as i liked the image but couldn't really use it).

As i make more, i may put them here.

For contrast, here is one i made for another ATS member. They hate UT (Aggie fans), so balked at using it. Since then it has just sat on my hard drive.

of course, it is one of my first attempts at using PS (a few years back), so lacks a lot in quality. But I still liked it:

I often find that I make something that i cannot use. A good example is the hat band in my current avatar. I originally made just the alien head (which is a desktop wallpaper on my Ubuntu box currently). After putting on a stylized "barbed wire" band, i decided to see if i could warp it around my hat:

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/f9444ce0fa4b.jpg[/atsimg]

It ended up looking pretty good, huh?

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/08ccbe7ef36c.jpg[/atsimg]

The hat itself took a ton of warping to get it to fit, and it still leaves a little to be desired. But it is a gorilla. Do gorillas really ever wear their hat straight?

Loving your latest one, the gorilla is too cool for school!

I tried being creative with mine at first but they were too big and I have no clue how to resize photos if you can believe that

So I settled for a paint chop of Nine Inch Nail's Year zero propaganda art... I stand by my decision!

Hey there texan. I was wondering if you could make me an avy of a huge pidgeon or other bird flying over Ben Bernankes head and having a little number 2 while doing it? Kinda would go with my handle. lol

Nice Job anwho!

Wow - this one is great - I really like it!

Being a relatively new member, I don't have an avatar and actually came to the forum to find out about them.

Would you mind if I used this one?

Not sure what I could give you in return, but let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance.

I make no claims over anything. If i make it, then i make it. It is not mine once i am done with making it. No one would have to ask. That is why i made the thread, so that folks could possibly use something i made.

and i would love to try to make some gorby shaped pigeon poo. pigeon poo apparently is hard to replicate. so be patient.
I am trying to get a better image (with a pigeon sitting on his head, not flying over).

To do it right, follow these steps:

1. Click on "Tools" at the top banner of your ATS screen.
2. On the "Change Your Profile" page, scroll down to the section that says "Your Avatar" and paste this in there:

h ttp://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/8a8e50a0789d.gif

Just remove the space from between the first "h" and the "ttp". i had to make that alteration so you could copy and paste the link, rather than having the site software shorten it.

then click "Submit". It is a clear image. You won't notice anything different at first, other than maybe stretching out your background a little.

3. Now you are still on the "Change My Profile" page. Scroll to the section that says "Your Background Image". In that box, paste the following:

/member/22a69a023f21.jpg

Then click submit.

This will stretch your "avatar" by making it your background image. if you have problems with it, U2U me.

OK, MOTF....here you go. I pulled the birthmark off a pic of Gorby, turned it white, and put it on Bernanke's melon.

My wife LOL'd

Hope you like it.

I am a fan of Ingo Swann, and when i came across the hand in this image, i had to find a way to make it work.

[atsimg]http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/1328671f31b9.jpg[/atsimg]

A skill i am working on is giving some depth of field. i have a ways to go, but each of those spoons started out as a regular spoon image.
