Some Kind of "Wanted" forum

I was on this thread:

when Gazrok mentioned a video from the late 1980s that I hadn't heard of. I found a summary but not the actual video itself, and haven't had any luck finding it. Given the nature of lot of the material and references on this site -- "leaked secret documents", old documentaries, etc. -- it would be helpful to have some centralized forum where people could ask questions like "can anyone help me find video X".

The advantages this would have are as follows:

a) It keeps threads from getting derailed by people asking for help finding the evidence
b) It makes it easier for users to search for help finding things, because a lot of times it's not obvious which threads will be useful in tracking down particular documents, etc...

I'm not suggesting setting up a filesharing system or using ats to store the documents, mind you, but just saying that a general "wanted" section might be helpful, and that the archives of such a section would be a useful research tool.

Has this been tried before? Any other thoughts?

I think this is an excellent idea. After all, there is no harm in trying it out, is there?

This is a great idea. I could use this when looking for something from a thread I saw a long time ago.
