ATS is a conspiracy site. That makes us paranoid to some extent. Some more than others, myself included. If someone doesn't know how the site works it's easy to see threads like this popping up. Let's cut the OP some slack. This thread probably showed him that his concern is unwarranted. Yeah these can become tedious but hey, have you got anything better to do today?

This is a classic case of someone who thinks they understand what they are seeing when, in fact, they do not.

The thread in question (as has been pointed out already) was "trashed", put in a forum only staff can see called, wait for it... "the trash bin".

The reason it was put there has been explained already too, it turned into a free advertisement for a known hoaxer, charlatan and all around intemperate jerk.

We don't do that here (the free advertising for jerks that is ) any more than we would do something as utterly ridiculous as "trash" a thread but leave it visible to the OP.

What, exactly, would be the point behind that? To fool the OP into thinking his thread wasn't trashed? You honestly think we are that childish? Well, that theory won't hold water either, because, EVERY action taken by staff on EVERY thread generates an automated U2U to the OP that informs them of the action taken.

Seriously, this is a case of ignorance causing paranoid assumptions that lead to rather insulting and false accusations.

Finally, I keep seeing the words "The ATS Agenda" in threads like this (and elsewhere). Anyone who can possibly extract an "Agenda" out of User Generated Content has a masterful sense of agenda gathering!

I tried. I only came up with AGEND. There needs to be one more "a" in User Generated Content to extract an "Agenda" from it.

Well, some people saw your post and starred and flagged it, so it was seen. In fact, I remember seeing it myself. After reading the first page, I decided not to continue. Perhaps others did too.

You seem to be making an assumption that because you didn't get many replies, ATS must somehow have hidden it. That is merely speculation. There is another possible reason - perhaps the lack of responses is in itself genuine feedback - as it was in my case. I acknowledge that would not be the kind of feedback you wanted, but it is very possible that it is, nevertheless, real feedback.

It's true that your thread doesn't come up in the search facility, but that is not something I find unusual. I think the ATS search facility is pretty useless. I have found it very ineffecient and frustrating to use, so much so that I don't bother using it any more. But again, you make assumptions about why your thread doesn't appear in the search facility result - and based on my experience of having tried, unsuccessully, to use it many times, I have to disagree with your assumption/hypothesis that it somehow confirms that ATS is 'hiding' your thread.

I wish you well with your book, but, honest feedback - I won't be reading it.

I will say this though: I used to work as a "super moderator" on a large survival forum. On said forum, we would block posts that went against the "agenda" of the site, meaning: if the thread started was not to serve the purpose of our site (to spread survival awareness, discuss how to survive certain things, ect.) then we would simply delete the thread, close it, or hide it.
So, ATS Staff may do the same thing if they feel a thread is detremental to the site, or is just pointless. Remember, this is their board, and you have payed nothing to use it. We have the privalage to post here, not a right. They can do as they please.

I've always thought it was ATS policy to censor classified information if outside government forces requested it... Or at least I read somewhere that this isn't uncommon practice anyways.

I'm not saying this is the case in the OP, but I doubt ATS allows just anything unless it wants to be forced to shut down by that guy with the gun over there telling us to be where
