Really? I would be more than happy to continue a debate, First tell me how my posts show my lack of knowledge on the subject? I never commented on the subject. I did say I was a member of SPCA and Labrador rescue among other organizations. I mention those two because that is where I'm most active.

Your posts show a lack of knowledge because your posts contain a lack of intellectual context. All your posts do contain are personal attacks and trolling tactics. Claiming you are a member of the SPCA does not make you an authority figure on the subject matter, nor does it even make it true. I could claim I am the head of PETA. Prove me wrong.

I am still starring your posts, by the way.

Quote from TOOL Disgutiapated

And the angel of the Lord came unto me,
snatching me up from my
place of slumber,
and took me on high,
and higher still until we
moved in the spaces betwixt the air itself.
and he bore me unto a
vast farmland of our own midwest,
and as we descended cries of
impending doom rose from the soil.
one thousand, nay, a million
voices full of fear.
and terror possessed me then.
and I begged,

"Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me,
"These are the cries of the carrots,
the cries of the carrots.
You see, reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day
and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat
like the tears of one millions terrified brothers
and roared,
"Hear me now,
I have seen the light,
they have a consciousness,
they have a life,
they have a soul.
damn you!
let the rabbits wear glasses,
save our brothers...can I get an amen?
can I get a hallelujah? thank you, Jesus.

life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on...
this is necessary

THIS IS NECESSARY

I don't even know what that means "starring" my posts.

Lets take this step by step to see if we can come to a mutual understanding if not agreement. Can you agree to that?

Sure, lets do it.

Let the agreeing begin.

Aren't you answering your own first question with your sarcastic second question?

If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it. And if you aren't going to watch it, don't bother posting in this thread. All you are doing is trolling by attacking the title rather than the context of the post and the subject at hand.

No..I would like to see what the OP thinks.

I'm not going to watch it...for the reasons I gave and because the OP has totally killed any motivation I would ever have to watch it. Now if he had used a different tactic and introduced this documentary in a positive way...I may be more intrigued. You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar and all that...you know.

I will post in this thread...I don't need your permission or your approval. Whether the OP intended it or not...his attitude and arrogance IS the topic and context of this thread.

Then you are a troll so long as you do not discuss the actual topic at hand. I know discussing the delivery of the message rather than the message itself is easier and requires less thought, research, and facts, so I can understand why you would like to continue discussing it in that manner.

Lets leave the video and it's message out of this first. Did the OP say people should die for not looking at this video?

I believe so, however I now see that the OP has been changed. Good for her/him.

Are you ok with the original message of "watch or die"?

And what exactly are you doing in your replies to me? Where any of my replies directed to you...or are you just "trolling"?

Seems you are guilty of your own accusations.

That is his opinion.

I can see that I am the cause of all of this trolling, and though I still believe what I said, I changed the title and context of the OP.

Now may we move forward and address the real issue at hand?

Now that the emotions have been taken out and we can look at this with clear minds (a good tip for debate/any topic)

what issue is at hand?

That animal cruelty exists? That there are unscrupulous individuals that just don't care that animals "have feelings too" ?

What is the solution to fixing this problem?

There is not one set solution for the issue at hand, which is inequality throughout this world at the hands of the powerful few. This includes injustices towards other humans, animals, and nature.

We must take it one step at a time, and we can begin by spreading awareness. This documentary is one of the best out there and has a very powerful message that, if you already have feelings for life of all shapes and sizes, even if it is buried deep, it will bring out those feelings. I promise that.

Ok, that's fine. I didn't agree with the OPs original tone,

As for the message. I'm not a vegan, vegeterian or a member of PETA. I have a strong feeling about animal cruelty, but I do recognize that we use them for food, clothing and other needs.

Then what are the many solutions?

We stop puppy mills (the bad kind)?

We stop raising cattle to eat? Good luck with that, there is nothing wrong with having others process our food for us. The issue evolve when they put stuff in the cattle that hurt us. And there is nothing wrong with using the skin for other purposes. It would be WASTEFUL to NOT use it for footballs, soccer balls clothes etc etc.

I think there is one, broad solution. You shut down those that do not follow the set criteria that is put in place in order to be "humane".

The solution is awareness, information, and the motivation for change. We must all become aware and inform ourselves of what is going on and actively push for change. It is not impossible. Racism and sexism in the United States were both defeated on a nationwide scale with movements based on awareness, information, and the motivation for change. Speciesism can be defeated as well.

Like racism and sexism, there will never be a point in which speciesism is entirely eradicated from the human race. That is an unfortunate fact. But what needs to be the focus of attention here is that there is great room for improvement of the situation. We can become more aware; we can become more informed; we can become more motivated for change. We can change the current state of affairs when it comes to the treatment of animals.

That is what needs to be done. That is the solution.

I am the same way.

I believe it is a necessity to kill animals for food, but it is completely unnecessary to torture them or farm them for food. People don't want to see how their food or clothing is made, and if they did see it, they would become vegetarians more times than not.

I watched about 30 or 40 minutes of this film last year. I couldn't finish it, it was just too disgusting.

IMO factory farms need to be outlawed, or better standards put in place.

As for the argument that animals don't feel emotion, that is just ignorance.

I do not disagree with the killing of animals for food. Other species of animals kill other species of animals for food as well; it is natural. However, what is NOT natural, and what I do disagree with is the treatment of the animals before and during their slaughter.

Artificially inseminating animals to increase the supply of meat, holding them hostage in tight, filthy quarters, injecting them with artificial hormones and steroids, beating and torturing them, and inhumanely killing them ARE NOT necessary to produce food.

I do disagree with the killing of animals for clothing and other material possessions, however. We are far enough along in our technology that we can find alternatives to creating our clothing and other material possessions. I also disagree with the use of animals for purposes of entertainment, such as rodeos and zoos. Holding them captive in unnatural environments for the sake of our entertainment is cruel and inhumane. Furthermore, I disagree with the use of animals in experimentation. All products tested on animals must be tested on humans as well before entering the market anyway. There is no purpose to running experiments on animals, especially considering their genetic makeup differs from our own.
