How can america judge the world, be a superpower and dictate other counties in what they believe is right when only 20% of American have a passport, surely to see the world and open youre eyes to what is really going on you would need to see things with youre own eyes, Yet I find it hard to believe that only 20% of America has even been out of the country?
This I find quiet shocking considering the strong views Americans have on how the world should behave?
Surely an educated people is a well travelled and knowladged people. Not the Americans?

of the nearly 7 billion people in the world, what % of them have been to the US??

but I can guarentee that either good or bad, those same people have some judgement of that country...

I think the bigeest problem is our governments lie to us ALL! they all tell us that we are hated by the citizens of other countries, but the truth of the matter is, its actually a small protion of the population that actually hates anyone. and those people in fact hate us all.

Americans are in America they do not understand and think of this and cant see what the world outside America sees.
The Americans are not a well travelled nation, and it is true what Prince Andrew was quoted as saying through Wikileaks that geography is Americas weakness.

Even as a mostly loyal American, I have to agree with you on this one!

I have been fortunate enough to travel (and in some cases via student exchange, family connections--live) through much of the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, some of Africa, some of the Middle East, some of Asia. Most of my friends have traveled internationally, too. I think that those experiences for us, in many ways, "define" our outlooks and perspectives.

I have difficulties getting along with other Americans who automatically make judgements about the rest of the world without thoroughly investigating, or having directly been exposed to said cultures.

Usually the excuse is: "Well, CNN/Fox/pick your US MSM outlet, said so & it must be true!" As a simple example, I was talking to someone who said the World Cup shouldn't be held In Quatar because you can't drink there according to Megyn Kelly. This type of ignorance is really irritating.

However, I suspect some people in the US do not have the time, means or desire to travel abroad. I would also suspect that a higher percentage of US ATS folks have traveled outside the US, but that is just a guess.

As for me, I still want to visit Australia and NZ; hopefully, one of these days....

I am not sure your argument is great. I have only ever been to ireland and england, but i am for things like eu etc... and try to understand more about our world through the net etc...

Its just that americans do not open there minds that outside america there is a world, sort of alot like england, and english people also.

I don't think that is true, for now we have the world wide web and the national geographic channel.
