Look at this. This “kid” is huge compared to this teacher. She is a tiny frail thing that takes his abuse I can only assume out of fear.

He repeatedly seems to threaten the smaller woman and then throws salt in her face. While all of this takes place his peers laugh and prod him forward. No one offers help and the whole thing is recorded on a cell phone.

Later he was charged with assault for throwing salt in her face. Whether that will do the job or not is in question though. I can only find the story right now on video, please watch it. Follow the link on the link below.

www.wral.com...

On a related note here is another story from earlier this year of a student bullying a teacher and even grabbing her bra strap. I do not know about other males; however, I was taught that doing any such thing to a woman or young lady was highly inappropriate. Again, this incident was film on a phone instead of offering help.
www.transitioning.org...

“This teacher was humiliated and stripped of her power two times – the first time when the student sexually harassed her by flicking her bra strap and the second when another student maliciously used his mobile phone to record the incident and then uploaded and circulated the video.”
She added: “She had to see a psychiatrist and was on anti-depressants.”
“She was so humiliated and kept wondering who else had seen the video. It completely shattered her. She couldn’t get out of bed and kept crying all the time.” The video was taken down soon after it was posted online, said Madam Ng.

I now offer the question of what should happen to these “kids” who are bullying teachers and other kids? Certainly in the case of the much larger student bullying the tiny little teacher I would like to see him tossed in to a scared straight cell were an inmate bullies him for a day or some. Maybe then he would see his wrongs.

I also have to wonder about the home lives of these kids. Many times, though certainly not always the bullied kid is bullied at home by a parent of sibling. What is wrong with society?

This is normal human child behaviour, and if you pretend it is not you are lying to yourself. This kind of thing has always happened and always will happen.

A lot of people never grow out of it either.

While it might be normal to pick on others, do you find it normal to abuse a woman or girl if the abusers are male?

Sorry but the abuse of the female sex is not normal behavior. It is a sign I think of a larger problem in the future.

The first video really angers me. That poor old lady, at first it looks liek she is sitting down while the student is acting like a complete fool, but later in the video when she is walking you clearly see that standing up, she only comes up to his elbows. This is a tiny women, clearly older.

I would just like 5 minutes with the student so I could give him a lesson in what it is to be bullied. Judging by the way he acts, I am sure he will find out for himself what it is like when he becomes the butt buddy on cell block D, cause prison is exactly where he is headed if he continues to act like a jackass. He won't feel so tough when he gets sold for a pack of smokes.

I agree with that poster to a point. Yes, there have always been those who pick on others. That is not a question really. It is sad but true. That said though, I think it does matter when for instance. These young males are focusing on women.

I was raised in an abusive home. I have seen a man focus his rage on a woman. I also recall the movie “Burning Bed” (highly recommend this movie to anyone) I seen as a child which more than anything sent a message to me not to screw with a woman because she will mess you up when you are asleep.

I feel these kids might be learning a behavior either at home or in the media that absorb.

An example is a song/video about an abusive relationship.

I enjoy the music of both, but this cannot be allowed to be seen as normal.

The nun should have grabbed her ruler and went all biblical on his ass. There's a direct connection to child behavior these days and the lack of discipline at school and in the home. In my day, I would've been paddled by the Principal with one of those infamous paddles with the holes drilled in it ( a "Holy Paddle" if you will), and then I'd of gotten some more from my father when he got home in the evening. Purple asses = better kids.

No he said this was normal child behaviour and it isn't.

Normal child behaviour is a bigger kid picking on another kid, law of the land, king of the jungle type thing. This is a tiny, elderly nun. Picking on that type of person is not normal child behaviour.

So you're saying men should treat women with that special sense of chivalry from long ago?
I used to think the same, until I saw women now got too big headed and use this special treatment to demand more.

As for this being normal child behaviour, yes, it is normal child behaviour. If she were to put her foot down, it would help in them stopping, regardless of the childs size. If the child does not stop then, THEN there is a problem. But if the nun as is said in the story does not tell him off or anything, the kid will continue. It's naive to think that you can be very timid like her and become a teacher, and don't get all idealist on me either on how it shouldn't be this way. This is how it is, purely out of genetics, this is the age where they learn about societal norms, and being an individual (well, atleast trying to be an individual, but failing miserably as is seen with the whole fads, especially that old emo fad where they tried to be individuals but ended up mimicking each other) and such. This would not have continued had she not been naive.

When I was younger I had a teacher that was comparable in height to a 5th grader, she looked really young also, but was married. The boys tried to pull crap with her too but she put her foot down and told them off.

They need to put them kids in a bully class and teach them with more compassion and concentration so these children will develope mentally becomming more intelligent which in turn shall curve their bullying due to them having a broader perspective on life.

I utterly disagree with anyone beating anyone else, as it just demonstrates to me the lack of respect we seem to have as a society.. tho I've known plenty of little nuns all to happy to punch a child in the face for any kind of infringement of their rules.. so it does run both ways.. Still it would be nice if we (humans) could find balance and weed out all bullies.

For my part, female Irish accents still send shivers down my spine.

I disagree. I have been treated like garbage by women but I was not soured so much to the point I feel they should be treated with anything but respect.

You say women have gotten big headed. I say a few have gotten out of hand but that does not mean they should still be treated as a lesser being. I believe everyone should be shown a degree of respect “do unto others” sort of thing.

Chivalry is only dead in the eyes of those who do not practice it. I have been married for going on ten years. Admittedly, I am not always the perfect example of male chivalry, but I still show the respect deserved even to those I do not know. I believe in holding doors for anyone in most all cases if I get the chance, yet more so for a woman.

You might see chivalry as a waste of time; however, I assure you it still has its place. Kindness can get you a very long way.

Back to the videos though, I think this is a sign of abuse or at the very least a learned behavior on the part of these young males.

Point accepted. I was simply trying to give the benefit of the doubt about bullying as a whole. However, I did question the male on female abuse.

Hi, I am not as much commenting on the main post as I am on this post above, by you.

I like your chivalry and it is nice to see a gentleman still around these day but women have had the protection of civility for too long. BULLYING can happen to either sex. There is significant research and significant reports of males being bullied by groups of females. Women are no longer the image some people have of the 50's housewife or the 30's gangster girls.

They fought for equal rights, so lets offer it to them. I am not one to abuse women or men but if someone strikes me with malice be it woman or man I will strike them back doubly as hard. The law dictates in the UK that defending yourself is surmountable to reasonable force. It does however, leave out the part where being a gentleman prevails.

I have never seen a man strike a woman before except on film, however I have on two occasions one being my friends wedding seen a woman strike a man for some reason.

Equal rights means taking the rough with the smooth. I mean no offense to anyone, but I do get a little irate with how we are supposed to act as gentlemen yet women are no longer the fragile people they once were. Now they command companies, serve in the forces admirably and dish out punishments as judges. This shows they have grown substantially while we men remain dormant and caught up in semantics.

The problem i see with the story is Bullying.

There were two stories. One was about an elderly nun being a victim the other was about near sexual harassment of a young teacher.

I don't know what article you are reading , but if you watch the video, which you obviously did not, then you would see a woman that looks closer to 70 then anywhere near her 20's.

I see chivalry as a waste of time, but I end up doing it anyway in simple manners due to childhood upbringing, it's habit. It's not that I believe women should be looked down upon, but this whole feminist movement has seemingly implanted the idea that I will treat women on equal terms as a man. But when women demand the best of both worlds, the chivalry, AND to be treated on equal terms as a man, you're effectively treating them as above you, and that is when it stops for me.
