This is just one of the many spirals that have been seen. In place's like, Norway, Russia, China, and Australia.

On August 25th, 1988 a Mysterious Spiral appeared in China, and (from what a youtube commenter posted) lasted for 5 nights.

I've looked this up and couldn't find much information on it. But I thought it was interesting, and decided to share it. If anyone can translate what is being said that would be great.

Is that actual footage or an artist rendition? Do you know? Where are our Chinese speaking conspiracy friends?

I could be wrong, but Im 100 % Sure that it's actual footage. As what they are talking about I have no clue. Possibly talking about what it could be, and what caused it.

Wow, that is quite the incredible footage. Do we have anyone on ATS who can translate what is being said for us?

Also, let us examine the "official story" of the Norway Spiral fo any merit in this one. So, were there any rocket launches in this area at this time? The best way to find out would be to find out the location and date of this footage, and check it with records of rocket launches.

Does anyone have this information?

S+F for you, good sir!

Edit to add:

I just did a search on the date: August 25, in wikipedia. Here is what I found: (note: it is showing important events that have fallen on August 25 over the years)

1980 – Zimbabwe joins the United Nations.
1981 – Voyager 2 spacecraft makes its closest approach to Saturn
1989 – Tadeusz Mazowiecki is chosen as the first non-communist Prime Minister in Central and Eastern Europe.
1989 – Voyager 2 spacecraft makes its closest approach to Neptune, the outermost planet in the Solar System.
1989 – Mayumi Moriyama becomes Japan's first female cabinet secretary.

Since no rocket launch is covered, I can only assume that this means there was no launch on that date.

Alrighty then, it was something other than a 'failed rocket', like the Norway Spiral was claimed to be.

Let us keep digging!

That's like seeing a UFO and looking around for swamp gas.
C'mon. Please tell me you're kidding?

The Norway spiral was not caused by any rocket. Spirals are too sacred, too meaningful, too important in ancient history only we have no idea what they imply or mean.
So please. Rockets? Really?

This again?

There was NEVER any doubt that it was a Russian rocket test!
Just check out Wikipedia:

9 December 2009 Failure Launch from a submerged submarine. The missile malfunctioned during firing of its third stage.[36][37]

Notice the date? Guess which date that is...

This is untrue. There was doubt. It didn't happen decades ago. Memories are still fresh, and at first everyone was wondering what the heck had caused it. A few days later Russia came out and said, "Well, we had a rocket misfire. That might be it". After that, it was latched onto as the cause.

What ever caused this one, had the ability to go counter-clock wise, and also clockwise.

You can notice it in the video, so if A rocket can do that then perhaps that's what it is.

I saw that change in direction too and thought it was odd and made it all the more mysterious. It looked like it changed instantaneously and didn't stray from the center point during the transition which only adds to its oddity. I'm not sure what to think about that.

Allow me to remind you m'friend; in the times and world we're living in, one must trust no one. They even teach that to toddlers now a days. And adults certainly know better than to trust governments. Have you been sleeping under a rock the past 10 years? If so, I envy you. Really.

Unfortunately we're in an era where: if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and moves like a duck------it's probably an elephant.

Here, let me also remind you of the 'official' statement if I may.

The Russian Defense Ministry has confirmed the Russian Navy launched a Bulava ballistic missile on the same day, but has declined to make any connection with the lights seen over Norway.

Im still hoping someone could translate for us.

As I mentioned in the first post, a youtube member said the guy in the red had stated that it was seen for 5 days in a row. So if that is true, then I'm more than sure that a failed rocket can't last that long. But again we need someone who can translate. Without that there's not much that can be said.

I dont think there is any explanation for a UFO sighting you will accept. A lot of the times if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it IS a duck. With your attitude on the UFO subject I think you may just end up accepting some hoaxes as real. I just hope you use some discretion. I think the rocket is a reasonable explanation that looks very, very similar. The smartest and best thing you can do after a sighting is looking for possible reasonable explanations and that could mean looking for swamp gas, planes, etc in the area...

Hmmm...interesting...wonder if this has any connection to the orbs of light seen around the world in recent times. An earlier version in development process to what we have now? The center light has resemblance, maybe the orbs have the capacity to emit spirals?

Well, now I'm getting carried away with the potentials.

I understand there can be so many different causes for all of these so called UFO objects. I also understand once you see it with your own eyes the proof is undeniable. This may be the problem itself, the belief once you see it eh'?

Just another rocket launch, without a doubt. You can see if lifting off in the first video (0:57), then spinning out of control. It obviously wouldn't be uncommon for an out of control rocket to change direction in the sky. When you think about it, a rocket that's out of control but maintaining an even and consistent level of thrust could easily trace the path of a tidy spiral. It's a logical conclusion. As for the claim that it lasted '5 nights', who's to say? That's a statement that could have easily been included by anyone to make the story more enticing. Possibly also multiple rocket launches on successive nights. Nice video all the same.

I wonder what caused the rocket to fail?

Did they ever find out?

Yes, i've seen a lot of people say, "Well I saw a UFO ten years ago! I know they are real!!" and it has nothing to do with the certain case or piece of evidence we are discussing. My point to Human_Alien is just as much as you accept alien UFOs, keep your guard up before openly accepting a video or picture thats posted on this site. Do research, understand possibilities and never box yourself in. Be open to all possibilities, alien or hoax...
