According to main stream scientists a planet crashed into the earth, and then again which created the moon. Now assuming this is true could that
planet be planet x? If so, it's crashed into the earth twice, so when's it gonna do it again?
Would post a link to the theory but I'm on my phone.
Your thoughts?
No, what is commonly referred to as "planet X" is actually Eris, one of many smaller bodies found in the Kuiper belt. the object that was
hypothesized to have crashed into Earth and created the moon eventually is called Theia and it was roughly 1/2 the size of Earth (more or less the
size of mars). It is called the giant impact hypothesis.
If the moon formed after a collision between Earth and planet X than chances are Planet X was destroyed and its debris became part of the moon. It
wouldn't have survived in tact and certainly wouldn't be lurking around the Solar System waiting to hit us again.
