I think the other was just a random not a main character.

I only got through half of it, as my wife was falling asleep, hehe... So, I'll go watch it on my lunch break (and then fib, and watch the rest of it again with her later....)

Just saw the rest...
SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LATEST EPISODE...

The ones who bought it were wife beater, the one gal's sister (who had the birthday coming up), and some other non-characters in the camp.

Yeah, was kind of surprising about the "gang" in the city, was a neat twist. (and I figured that would be the solution, i.e. sharing the guns).

Also surprising about Merle. Guess there goes my helicopter theory, hehe.... My bet is that he lured a bunch of the walkers into the back of the van, then shut the door, and drove out to the camp. Either that, or he just drove slow, and let them follow him. He simply hid and let them go after the camp...

Maybe... The only thing wrong with it is that he would have been dooming his brother too (and he had to have known his bro would come looking for him....). Without the brother though, it's actually not a bad (if selfish) plan. (let the walkers kill the camp....then pick through after they've moved on, and pick up guns, food, etc.)

The other downside is that the returning group would have surely seen the tracks (and smelled them), if the zombies were led by Merle on foot... (this is why the truck back seems likely...though an awful lot of them)....

I think the red neck loaded the truck up with the zombies for sure. That was the first thing I thought of when the zombies attacked camp.

I did not see it coming when the Mexican gang ended up being good guys, makes since they have to act hard to keep people from looting. I would be scared watching the old people. All it takes is one of them to pass away in their sleep, become a zombie and kill everyone else as they sleep.

I like the part when the red neck with the cross bow pulls his brothers hand out of the bag and throws it to the kid saying “this is what I did to the last guy who did not help us” I was laughing forever.

Also another good part was when we ended up seeing “satins devil dogs from hell” and they ended up being little rat terriers and puddles. Lol good times

im really loving this show

Yeah, that was classic! (Although, I think I would have said, "C'mon man, give us a hand..." as I tossed it to him...)

I've said it before about the camp though... you need lots of open area around your camp (in this scenario), so you could see them coming. This idea of being in a tent near the woods....are you crazy? That's why they got eaten first....

one of the campers was bit or scratched and is hiding it. I can't recall which one but it was one of the guys and in the previews there was a scene where the redneck is saying he's a walking time bomb. It's a standard cliche in all zombie survival movies and books

I'd be watching the sister, who had the gal's blood all over her.... Why don't these folks treat zombie blood as the poison it is (even in this show's mythos)???

The guy who was bit is probably the guy who was digging the graves....the one they had to tie to the tree...

I wonder when we'll see Merle show up?

I thought it was the guy digging the graves but he didn't seem to be injured at all.

as to the blood thing, they covered themselves in zombie entrails at one point. clearly you don't get infected by the zombie gore, just their spit

well i know when they where covering themselfs in zombie guts they made the comment of not getting any in your eyes or skin. So im just waiting for an open wound to get splatered on by zombie brains.

I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.

One thing for sure. i would be showing all the woman and kids how to shoot guns. so if they get over ran again they can open fire. ( forgot they dont have to many guns.... nevermind)

Its like any disease say "HIV" you can not get HIV from shaking someone hand with HIV and I doubt or it is very hard to get it kissing them unless theres a open wound in your mouth? Correct me if I am wrong. This might be why it wouldnt infect them?

I dont think the zombies where lured, dont forget one zombie made its way to camp the episode before last. I had a feeling that wasnt the last one. I think we might be giving merle a bit more credit then he deserves

Maybe...but I still think Merle is behind the attack...

So far in the show, they mentioned that even a scratch (now open wound) would do it (the dad and his son, the first guys the cop met), and as mentioned above, they mentioned not getting it in the eyes, mouth, etc. This would seem to mean it is fluid based, for transmission.

As for HIV, no, shaking hands wouldn't do it (unless you both happened to have open wounds where contact was made, and even then, it's pretty unlikely)...but any other exchange of fluids (kissing), and you risk it. So, no kissing the zombies....

All during the attack I was also thinking Merle, but I thought of one problem with that. Even if Merle drove slow to lure the walkers to the camp the rescue party jogged from the city to the camp before the attack was over. How slow was Merle driving. I get that the walkers are slow, but the party never saw/heard the van so there was a serious head start. Also the campers didn't hear/see a vehicle approaching. The seeing I get since they dropped their watch to have a fish fry?!? but they should have been able to hear an approaching vehicle.

As to who got hurt/scratched. I think it was the deputy. I thought in the melee he got grabbed by a couple walkers, but then next scene he was free and shooting...

If it was Merle, he could have ditched the truck before getting within earshot, then lured the walkers to the camp on foot. He (like his brother) obviously has woodcraft skills, so could easily lead them to the camp and get away (and presumably, back to the truck).

I doubt the deputy would be the infected one...he's the main character after all. His buddy, on the other hand....who knows? My guess is the grave digger though, just as they spent a little time building up his character (so making his eventual death have more impact)....

When it was happening, I was sure it was him but in a later scene, he didn't have a cut or hole or blood on the right shoulder (The one that was bit).

Gaz, I meant the buddy (also a deputy isn't he?) not the main guy.

And I don't know but I don't think Merle led the walkers to the camp. He'll be back in a big bad way I figure, but I don't think he would have risked his brother in such a dangerous revenge.

Yep, the brother bit is kind of the kink in the "Merle brought them" theory..

Ahh...I see, you meant the friend deputy...gotcha...
(of course, he could be the "time-bomb" just due to his temper...

Another great episode just watched it! There was me thinking he was going to use his grenade on the Hispanic fellows.
I'm dying to see this grenade in action. Anyway Camero I quoted you because I like your theory. I was trying to think how Merle could have brought them there but short of making noise I couldn't think of anything. So maybe he loaded up the truck like you said!

Pour Amy bought the farm, but I was waiting for that since it happens in the book. Although I didn't think she would get munched that early. In the book her and Dale have a bit of flirting etc going on... So I though they would kill her off after that happen.

Im not expecting merle to have done it, all that with blood loss and one hand. As it was said he would be suffering blood loss and not be that capable.unless he is still coked up and going nuts. Again it doesnt seem he would risk his brother like that either. I think we are missing the fact that they had one zombie already come close, it was a matter of time before others came. Lets not forge the driving the car with the horn going, that surely could have lured them slowly over.
