These appear to be airplanes preparing for landing. From the description in
this video the YT poster mentions he lives on
Flushing and Bushwick in Brooklyn and sees them above the Queesboro Bridge. I'm interpreting "above" to infer the basic direction we need to be
looking for these UFO's. It's a bit under 4 miles from this location to the bridge. The inset picture shows where the footage was taken from and
the red line is from that location to the bridge.
Now that we have that information let's zoom out a bit and look for a reasonable explanation. About 12 miles away, within the presumed field of
view, we find
Teterboro Airport. It's a general aviation airport and is also a
relief airport for JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports which are run by the Port Authority. It
accommodates 80% of the general
aviation flights into and out of the Port
Authority’s airports and a quick view at current
arrival data shows that air
traffic here is busy enough to warrant the sights seen as airplanes lining up for landing. The colored portion of the map is what I assume would be
fairly representative of the field of view for the camera with the previous information still on the map.
The YT poster mentioned them being bigger than other planes flying in the area although there could have been planes flying closer if the lights were
from Teterboro. Trying to determine distance from a bright light of unknown size and intensity can be difficult to make comparisons with in my
opinion. In at least one of the videos he links to his "crazy crazy alien sighting" video on his personal account. I'm always suspicious of
"advertising for views" and when I clicked it, it states that it was "removed by user" which raises another eyebrow for me. There could be
several reasons why he recorded it if it's a normal occurrence. Maybe he's new to the area, maybe he only started "looking up" recently, or maybe
it's an intended hoax along with many other possibilities.
Does this prove they were planes without a doubt? Nope, but it's very suggestive to me that these were simply airplanes landing at Teterboro.
