I think he was talking about Operation Northwoods...maybe he was aware of it and didn't want it to go through, although I'm uncertain at this moment if it was in its proposal stage during his term or not. Regardless of the time, the Cold War era sentiment and paranoia was still very much alive.

No. He didn't. Read the whole speech.

JFK wasn't saying anything about UFOs; JFK wasn't saying anything about Freemasons or secret societies (he, himself was a highly decorated member of the Knights of Columbus). If you read the whole speech, and not the butchered version you posted, you'll see that he was arguing that the press should show discretion in what they report, and that communism was using information leaked in US newspapers as a weapon against us.

Don't get me wrong, I believe there is extraterrestrial life out there. But just because I and others believe it (like you say in the quoted text above) that doesn't mean it should be considered as an accepted fact does it?

Wow. Your search for truth seems to have turned you quite bitter. You posted this thread to begin a conversation or debate about the subject matter I'm sure. Don't get so upset when people ask for proof of your 'facts' or have a differing opinion. Peace and respect will often deliver a much more intelligent discussion.

You definately bring up some interesting ideas. I agree with most of them but haven't found any concrete evidence myslf. I have read much about the sources that you posted but I will go back through and reacquaint myself with them.

The "information" you provided was completely out of context.You attatched a meaning to JFK's words that wasn't there. I suspect you took it from a UFO/conspiracy website at face value, not even bothering to Google the speech to "research" it more. It takes minutes to check claims and sources, you didn't.
Believers tend to confuse "research" with websurfing. There's a little more to knowledge than that!
To simply uncriticly consume crap from UFO websites that only confirm your own preconcieved beliefs is simply chasing your own tail. This is something that VERY few believers on ATS ever grasp, and that is why the "alien/UFO" board is full of hoaxes, lies and nonsense.
